Seriously? I absolutely love it. Im actually surprised to see how popular it is over here in North America, definitely see more GLK's on the roads than X3/Q5.
Yeah, I can't stand it. I've been wondering how it's been doing in the U.S. It definitely doesn't seem like a flop, but then again, it's an SUV and SUV's always sell in America, so a "flop" is more or less out of the question, and anything nearing a "flop" is a disaster of a higher multiple than with other segments. What I'm wondering is how good it's been doing in the U.S, in term of Corporate expectations.
It certtainly is looking like quite a comprehensive update, in line with the FL C. The interior is thankfully getting a mssive overhaul as well.
Yeah, I hope they don't mess it up, because I like it. I'm already disappointed to see the shifter moved to the column.
The interior of the current GLK is by far the cheapest and worst of the current crop of MBs. Hopefully they improve it.
K-A and HoH you guys are nasty this car is not ugly it may not be beutifull as other Mercs but its not ugly..I hope the revamp is good and they bring it to SA.
GLK, best car out of Germany not to be offered in right-hand drive since the Carrera GT. [Mild hyperbole but still...] It would do so well down here in SA. Pity it'll never come here.
I like the new interior. It`s so much better and different from the other models, it`s not the same with the one we see in the C class facelift, which was also a very good improvement from the pre-facelift version interior.
It's just shocking why this is the case. Mercedes doesn't have any small SUV on the UK market while BMW and Audi both have two. Massive opportunity loss on Mercedes side.
When I was in Copenhagen Denmark I saw a couple of them being used as Taxi. Its beyond me seeing someone uses a SUV as Taxi.
As I explained some time ago, the packaging of the front differential and drive assembly on certain MB 4Matic models leaves no space for the steering column and rack to be mounted on the right-hand side.
I read that a RHD solution was being worked on for the FL. It was a MASSIVE oversight on MB's part that this was not addressed from the outset. It would have done very well here in Australia as well and could have easily added a good 10,000 to 20,000 in global sales. Oh well, if we get the FL we'll be getting it at the peak of its lifecycle when it will probably be most worthy of it's MB badge.
^^^ 20,000 sales in Australia? Where are you getting that from? Australia is a tiny market, probably smaller than Holland even. Over here it's little over 1100 total sales for the GLK, with a grand total of 12 in November 2011. LMAO, I really like that quote! But I hope it isn't true, because it wouldn't bode well for the F20 1er. It already needs a major facelift....
