It seems that the US press release was indeed leaked.

    (New X3) X5, X6 + X1 FL's all use same as HVAC controls as pre-FL.

Fl X1's steering wheel has a new trim piece in polished aluminium if you look closely;)

300 ponies in the little X1 will make for one exciting softroader, I bet Human is pissed it's not SA bound.

Holy cow... check out how they've integrated the US mandatory amber reflectors on the front-end.

Just noticed the number plate, why on earth would they drop 'the ultimate driving machine' slogan for 'JOY'?

Though since this is a new release maybe it's making a welcome return.

Geez, "JOY is BMW" was just one of the many BMW marketing campaigns through the history (just like the "Company of ideas" etc).

THE UDM slogan has been always there. Even portrayed in the JOY campaign ads. It was some stupid media / journalists who started the rumor "Joy is BMW" would replace UDM as BMW's slogan. But that hasn't never been the case nor the BMW's aim. It just proves how quickly some false misinterpretations by media can become "truth", and can cause quite some damage.

But the responsibility also lies in the people themselves - since they don't differ brand slogan from the certain ad / campaign tag. Eg. "M. The most powerful letter in the world." also isn't BMW's slogan, but a ad tag used in some ads / campaigns for M cars etc.

I think the 240 hp 28i is also very exciting. Same engine in 528i and X3.

Yeah I sampled it recently in the F30 and found it quite potent.

So, the mighty marketing department of a global car manufacturer, the ones who create these advertisements and marketing campaigns are undermined by a journalist?

I've never heard any rumour form a journalist about "joy" replacing "UDM". I just saw the Joy campaign in all it's sickly reality and assumed that was BMW's new slogan. I suspect the vast majority of the casual, non-petrol head public thought the same, especially when they see the "joy" adverts on TV and on billboards everywhere. BMW are as much to blame as anybody for messing around with these silly slogans and confusing the casual observer, so don't start blaming the "media" for cocking it up. (y)

I thought we would see an X1 M35i E84 LCI?

It is not media or ignorant journalists that cause damage, but fanboys or on the contrary haters.

The rear of the X1 is hideous

I think the X1 is going to sell like hotcakes, but it may be at the expense of the X3.

The rear of the X1 is original, pretty and still very very fresh.-
