The launch of the new coupe is scheduled for next year at the Geneva Motor Show, also a convertible is in the pipeline. The coupe’s styling is again done by design house Pininfarina. Most likely it will use the same engine as in the sedan, a 4.2 litre V8 producing 400 HP, however, it will be upgraded to 4.5 litres delivering approximately 500 HP.

Ohh, that does look very nice indeed ...the CL is in for a fight ....but it will not be called Quattroporte of course ..because that means "four doors".

I only hope that they will entirely change those awful looking headlights and then my friends we'll have a real jewel from Italy.

PS: If you want to tell me we already have a jewel from Italy and with that you mean Ferrari, don't even think about it, i don't want to hear anything about those Matchbox toys.:D

Don't tell me you like 'em! C'mon, man, that's the worst part of the car, and it's quite old i'd say...

I agree that it looks a little too plain.

But in real life it plays a small part in a big orchestrated design that's really beautiful.

It will look as good as its four door sibling but just like the flyring spur it will already be old at launch since it doesn't bring any new design to the table. On the other hand Fiat aren't as wealthy as MB enabling them to manufacture a coupe which looks totally different than its sedan sibling.

    Not exciting too me.

Probably the last coupe on my list, if i was looking for a coupe, and was too make a list of coupes to choose from.

That is true ..but I have the feeling this is probably in response to customer demand.

I guess this will replace the current Maserati coupe which is a bit out dated. There are tons of amazing 100k coupes and this will probably flop.

SPY PHOTOS: New Coupes from Maserati

One of the biggest mysteries in the business of spy-photography recently has been the appearance of a lot – some say: too many – coupé-prototypes from Maserati. But with a lot of help from insiders and sources outside the factory we reckon we have solved this: There’s actually three new cars in the pipeline – and they all promise to be exciting and worth the Maserati name and badge.

We admit that we don’t know yet which of the three cars will be the first to be unveiled or when the fireworks of new models will be started, but it’s obvious that the Quattroporte-based 2+2 Coupé is the one with the least disguising. While side profile and rear strongly remind of the exclusive four-door saloon, the front of the car will be all new. This seems to be the car that’s going to replace the current GT coupé.

The new soft-top Spyder is disguised somewhat more, but nonetheless major keys of the design are visible and making the illustration was a rather easy task for our artist. The car is going to be a pure two-seater and might become a strong competitor to the Mercedes SL, though it won’t come with the SL’s folding metal roof.

That seems to be reserved for the third new car to come – a first for Maserati: the four-seater CC with a retractable hard-top but space enough for four adults plus luggage. The actual prototype is still heavily disguised, but you can see the car’s relatively long wheelbase, comparatively short door and very low front. Guessing from the level of disguising we reckon the 4-seater CC will be the last of the three new Maserati cars to be presented – although we would wish we’d be wrong here ...

Funny, since I dislike the Quattroporte, for me it's the opposite... meaning this the Quattroporte is a lousy sedan version of this.

I never liked the quattroporte, it always reminded me of a Buick..This is just ugly. What is with that wierd green house and that funky windowline?

It's nice, but nowhere near the levels of the CL or the Aston.
