    Evo please!

    Hmmm...None! I'll wait for the Focus RS.:D:t-cheers:

Or the S3 Sportback. That will be my real choice.(y)

Yep, the S3 Sportback is also great! I thought since this comparison is between two cars with around 300hp, the Focus RS would be more appropriate.:t-cheers:

Consistent with most tests so far, the Evo X is faster track car than the new STi.

I almost bought a Evo X as a fun/track car that can also be an excellent winter car with AWD.....but I was tempted away by the 135i.

Surprising to note that Sport Auto got a laptime of 1:17,4 around Hockenheim for the 135i, which is a touch faster than the Evo X's time of 1:17,8.

Of course, there could have been different drivers which may make the results not comparable.

STI. It's a far more versatile car on the road. It's a far better car to own.
And it's a manual - like any of the dozens of STIs I've driven ought to be...

If I had R 489,000.00 to blow on a car I'd buy that new STI. It's so very very nice to drive.

I drove the Evo X today.

Wow, it glues to the road like it's on rails. Power comes in above 3,500rpm, but once it does it gets scary. Good machine - but of course I haven't driven many cars yet...

    DeDe,

Do you have the scans of this test?
    At least the data panel.

    Sadly, no. :t-hands:

    Evolushan!

Other than top end down the main straight, the Evo was better or equal through all corners! Every comparison concludes that the STi has always understeered more than the equivalent Evo but I thought with the SI Drive & DCCD thingy that would be a thing of the past... apparently not!

I absolutely have to own one of these before I die. It's one of my life goals... ;)

I just love everything about the Evo!

WRX STi lacks the good looks, but would be the best to drive.;)

Scooby here! Evo doesn't even have manual tranny... Where is the fun? + I'm not much fan of the Evo's generic looks! ;)

I am 50/50 on these cars.

I like the Evo X for its engine and handline while the Subaru STi for manual transmssion and also daily drivability. However, the turbo lag in STi seems to be a bit too much.

    Really, a toss up.
