Okay, after The Dark Knight Rises, this (along with The Master) looks to my next most anticipated movie. The IMAX trailer for this is just so action-packed, unfortunately it's not online.

But here are the other trailers in chronological order of release....

    teaser

    international trailer

    US trailer

    Commercial during the Olympics

    Observations I had made....
-Roger Deakins is the cinematographer and just by the footage shown, it looks lush and gorgeous.
-action-packed but more humorous than Craig's previous two outings as Bond
    -Berenice Marhole is a stunner
    -action-packed
    -
Javier Bardem looks to be almost as creepy as he was as Anton Chigurh from No Country for Old Men. That only means good things.

    - action-packed
    - Aston DB5!
    - Sam Mendes is directing. I expect quality dialogue and clever repartee.
    - Ralph Fiennes will definitely add even more gravitas
    - did I mention this looks like it'll be chock-full of action? Because it sure looks like it is. :D

Definitely looking forward to November this year.

Watched it tonight. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

A very different plot for a Bond movie but with an excellent blend of Nostalgia.

I liked the Skyfall, but not loved it.

I liked the Mendes' direction. Bardem's portrayal of Silva was brilliant IMO. Dench was great, as she usually is. And Craig's Bond is cool (with a bit more refinement it would be even better!) too watch. Plot was OK, but it could be better.

Skyfall was a good (Bond) movie IMO, but not that good I anticipated to be (based on what had been written by various prominent film critics). I must admit I liked the Casino Royale more. CR still had more classical Bond features than Skyfall , and the plot & directing were also more classical Bond (perhaps because it was a "transitional" Bond movie - form old to new era???). While Quantum of Solace was IMO one of the worst Bond movies ever - with weak plot & horrible directing. I hope they have learned a permanent lesson from that disaster.

The final part of SF movie was very dark (also literally, lol) & non-Bond-like. But it worked fine nonetheless.

I'm a fan of the new Bond movies though ... IMHO Craig is still the best possible Bond for today. He is very contemporary. I've never liked corny Bonds at all.

Yet what I miss in the new movies is a hint of glamour that has always been a key feature of Bond movies. And a hint of traditional British poshness. The new Bond movies with Craig are getting a bit to raw for may taste. Sure Craig's portrayals of Bond are great, but I hope some refinement will be added in the next movies. I find the character a bit to raw in the last two movies for my "Bond taste".

I also do not like the latest plots being to much focused on Bond's personal issues. C'mon, it's like watching Bourne. IMO one Bourne series is enough, and one Die Hard series is sufficient as well - with all the hardcore demolitions. But now we are getting Bond movies that are a hybrid between DH & Bourne movies. Perhaps the new Bond clientèle dig it, but I still don't. In this respect IMO Casino Royale was much better. While SF carried on some of the QoS (IMO) redundant hardcore action scenes.

I'm aware they are reinventing Bond from the scratch ... introducing us a raw, undeveloped & complex character of bond. All the tragedies (the death of the loved ones etc) will surely define & mature the character in the next movies ... But I think 3 movies have been more than enough to do that. Now give me more defined Bond in the 24th episode. Especially now with all new (SPOILER ON) M (Fiennes) , Q (Whishaw) & Moneypenny (Harris) (/SPOILER OFF) characters introduced - which all of them I like very much. And I hope Craig stays on board for at least 2-3 more movies - with new movie introduced every 2 years, I hope ... now when MGM is on track again.

Mendes has openly stated that he is a fan of Christopher Nolan, but come on. Skyfall is James Bond Rises. Don't get me wrong, I like the movie, but I can't stand the blatantly carbon copied themes.

First, Bond is "killed" then rises when his hometown is threatened.

The villain, which is a blend between the Joker and Bane.

At first, the urgency is about the missing harddisk which contains the identity of every agent undercover. Nothing is more important about the safety of all agents but in the middle of the story, everyone suddenly forgot about it.

Then, Bond brought M back to his.. Wayne Manor. With an old Alfred waiting. Oh come on, of all places, this is supposed to be the best to protect his boss ?? Result : mission failed, isn't it ?

The villains destroyed the castle ("Bond Begins").

Bad guy killed his mother. Sorry, his boss.

There are still tons of other blatant similarities but gotta go. Look it up!

There certainly were story elements of the Dark Knight in the film but nowadays pretty much every action film has some story theme which has been seen before the very same way a lot of cars nowadays look very similar to something we have already seen before.

There seemed to be a consistent theme throughout the movie suggesting that Bond has gotten old an rusty (and even the ending with the token M left for him). Anyone else get the feeling that this might be the last Bond film that Craig does? I hope not because I personally think he is the best Bond so far.

I just saw it, was ok I guess. It had its moments. It wasn't the worst or the best Bond film. I was upset to see M (Judi Dench) die off. Really didn't like that. Also there wasn't enough automotive action for me. Where was the new Vanquish lol??

I watched it last night, thought it was good, like most here have said, the similarities with The Dark Knight are blatant. Bardem's character capture and escape are nearly identical to the joker's escape. definitly could have added a car chase scene and little more toys. Opening sequence in Turkey is classic bond, wish there were more scenes like it. Left the movie theater thinking that Berenice Malrohe is smoking hot, even sexier with less make up...

It was a nice one for Bond. Mendes had said when announced he would be directing Bond, that he is certainly not targeting an Oscar :D

It bothered me, though, that Bardems character, was too gay...
PS. I am not saying this in a sexisting or homophobic way.

Yes, exactly.. "he wants to get caught..!"

While there wasn't a dramatic car chase scene such as the one in QOS, I just loved how the DB5 was used in Skyfall.

and just in case any of you are wondering, the DB5 that was destroyed in the movie was actually printed off a 3D printer

I haven't seen any of the Batman films because I don't like superhero films, but I have seen Skyfall and I thought it was long, boring, the AM DB5 bit was completely pointless and what a waste of Bond girl.

I don't know there's anyone who don't like superhero films. Boy, you're in for a treat for the next ten years and probably more.

I welcome them as they kill the era of Harry Potter and Twilight films !

Can't stand Daniel Craig. I went to sleep watching the first of his bond films. Haven't been interesting in the rest. Glad some of you enjoyed it though.

Do you fall to asleep watching Godfather II, Saving Private Ryan and the Hurt Locker ?

You can't go to the theatres to watch Steven Seagal anymore, his movies go straight to DVD these days..

Very good movie but not the choc the masterpiece critics hyped it to be. I wish i wuld have watched it without reading the reviews.
