    Thanks emve.

I extracted the following data from the test:

    80-100km/h in 6th gear: 0.78s!!! (Sport Auto 2.5s)
    80-120km/h in 6th gear: 1.76s!! (Sport Auto 4.7s)
    80-180km/h in 6th gear: 5.56s!! (Sport Auto 11.2s)

    80-100km/h in 7th gear: 2.23s (Sport Auto 3.7s)
    80-120km/h in 7th gear: 4.21s (Sport Auto 6.9s)
    80-180km/h in 7th gear: 10.02s (Sport Auto 15.5s)

    180-200km/h in 6th gear: 11.82 - 180-200km/h in 7th gear 2.12s (probably a big typo:t-hands:)

There is a huge difference between the times:eusa_thin

That's probably a typo, those times rather be the full acceleration times (through gears): 100-200 km/h in 6,6 seconds (so 0-200 km/h in est. 9,7 s) (y)

probably chipped as like as QR (rumored @ 590ps)
  5. DeDe Contributing Member

QR tested the same testcar as AMS, Sport Auto, AutoBild, EVO, Top Gear did... (y)

458 @ balocco 2.43:90 (I know just this, see you tomorrow for full details)
    compared to
    Porsche Carrera GT 2:42.62
Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce 2:43.51
    Porsche 997 GT2 2:43.56
Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera 2:43.99
    Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera 2:45.00
    Porsche 997 GT3 (facelift) 2:45.97
    Nissan GT-R V Spec 2.46.00
    Ferrari 430 Scuderia 2:46.30

even so, 458 is the only in the top ten with hyper-tyres...

    here the results:
A lot faster (2,4 sec) than scuderia as told by the friend that posted before..
Weight: 1.528 kg with full fuel tank...

The new Scuderia will be a Devil....(y)

^^ Thank you for the scans! (y)

    Quarter mile in 10,9 s @ 214 km/h ?! That's easily an estimated 9,5 s-0-200 km/h-time!!!
  11. Mafalda Active Member

sems the same results of QR, but with a better
    0-60 Kph 1.80s (1.87s)
    0-100 3.18s (3.27s)
    ... 1/4 mile 10.88 (10.97)
1 KM 19.68 (19.79) with same exit speed

    0-200 'd be 9.70s (9.79s)

    p.s.
same results but it's not the same unit (look at the plate): this is DP543TV, QR was DP544TV

track condition (according with Auto editorial staff): very good
tested with Shell V-Power (they usually use 98 RON, V-Power when approved from mfrs)

    quick traslation
Laptime: ferrari claims the same laptime for 430S and 458, here in Balocco it is so faster, expecially in high speed corners (more stability)
about 458 Vs Superleggera, lambo has less understeer (extremer setup) and more traction in slow turns

    more about 458:
a rocket, but you'd give it to your wife (......neverrrr hahahahahaha:D)
so easy and comfortable everyday, so usefrioendly, and so fast! but with CST off you must be a real driver
DCT gearbox: the best DCT ever!
throttle is so reactive.. a little bit too reactive in everyday use :D
    great brakes, fantastic steer!

    Hi..
are you coming from Italy too? sorry I didn't want to post the scan before you but I simply had those scans in my hands since several hours.I took them from an Italian BMW Forum where I am very active.
I have notyet the magazine in my hnads. Just a question: what about the tires? which kind (Michelin, Pirelli or...?)of tires this 458 had during the test?
    tks
  14. Mafalda Active Member

    Michelin Pilot Sport, as usual.
  15. savage-It New Member

I just asked because sometimes you get Pirelli and sometimes you get Bridgestone. Not only Michelin. Many thanks
  16. Mafalda Active Member

about 458, all the road tests I've ever seen was with michelin Pilot SP3

    Pilot Sport 2 K1 (y)

reading the latest road tests and hotlaps, expecially balocco, Nurbur 20.8 (autobild SC) willow springs..... 458 seems better than "oldest" (old = spring 2010 :D ) tests: Vairano, Nurbur 20.6 (Sport Auto), top gear....
    fixed setup? :eusa_thin

    Different testcars.

    - Quattroruote, AMS, Sport Auto, AutoBild Sportscars, EVO, Top Gear - they tested the same car (huge respect to that particular car).

    - Automobilismo, Auto and AMS (@ Nardo) used other cars for testing with black rims and different numberplates.
