    I saw a 991 the other drive and it sounded incredible. I am happy Porsche has reworked the acoustics. The 991 almost sounds like a 997 GT3.

    First test with a few performance numbers, full results will be available with next issue's SL vs. 911-comparison.

    • Equipment: PCCB, PDK, Sport Chrono, PASM
    • Weight: 1535 kg (Carrera PDK: 1497 kg)
    • 0-100 km/h: 4,8 s (Carrera PDK: 4,3 s)
    • 0-180 km/h: 13,9 s (Carrera PDK: 11,8 s)
    • Vmax.: 284 km/h
    • Braking 100-0 km/h, cold/warm: 32,9 m/32,8 m
    • Average fuel consumption: 10,3 l/100 km


    You can feel the power-deficit of 50 hp compared to the Carrera S, the PDK shift back 1-2 gears very often, even on the slightest uphill. Acceleration is far behind the 911 Carrera S PDK Coupé, it is also much slower than the Carrera PDK Coupé tested by Italian Auto recently. Ceramic brakes are brutal.

    So basically you are better off buying a maxed out Boxster S that will all around be a mor fun convertible experience than an entry level Carerra Cabrio.

    Never, ever. Entry level 911 cabrio is still faster than E93 M3. Plenty of power....

    AHHHHH!! That's nice. I'm not even talking about the Gemballa parts, I'm still focusing on how great the 991 itself looks.

    I've seen a few on the roads now, and it's really a beauty, like a 997 but very subtly different, yet masterfully MUCH better looking.
