It's hard for them to go back to vertical grilles (as on the 328 hommage), with other brands making wide grilles that gives an aggressive/prominent stance.. a vertical grille doesn't work for a lot of people now but then I think for models that won't be high volume models, like the Z8 for example, why not give it a try? Maybe BMW can change the fashion again, who knows... i mean, BMW started a lot of modern designs, the basic stuff like having a clear piece of lens for headlights, character line(s), took advantage of LED lights for rear light graphics, iDrive etc. Of course risking it with a 3series is not the thing to do, but start off with something scarce won't hurt, at least all the rich die-hard fans would buy one. The 328 hommage is well loved by most actually from what i have heard, BMW fans or not. Also the F01 grille "can" go vertical, if it was made something like half an inch taller then it would be a "vertical" instead of "horizontal" already, and it works well. Trying something like this is a much much much better idea than the F20. Honestly, very honestly, it's going to get boring if BMW doesn't so anything... i mean if the F20 is the best that they can do to evolution-ise the older designs, than seriously..:t-banghea (kill yourself?), i mean it doesn't take much for someone to determine the F20 is just plain ugly, that a E30 looks 100 times hotter. Yes every new BMW model is more refined and refined, the designs gets better and better but it's starting to give no surprises, everything is well anticipated, it's just too safe.
