now i want to get something even stronger.. mabye a Calibra Turbo engine or something

don't know if the original gearbox will hold a 2.0 Turbo engine but my idea is to ask if any one out there know of or have a complete Calibra Turbo engine with the brain and wiring attatched or seperatly if u know of or have one that u want to sell please contact me :)

Hello and welcome to the GCF.

Ascona C... unlike most people say, it was actually an impressive car back then. I had the British version, the Cavalier Mk2. It was the 1987 CD 4-door Saloon (Sedan), Manual with the 2.0i 116 Bhp engine; very rare car, it was fairly quick and handled quite well. Fine. But it had a very NASTY habit of rusting as fast as it accelerated... I remember the car was only 3 years old and it was already looking pretty scabby.

I kept it for one year and the rust was so bad that it ruined what could have been a decent car. No wonder that of the 807.000 sold between 1981 to 1988, there are only 6.500 still in perfect working order on the roads of the UK, not to mention the security system was crap which made it the perfect car for joyriders.

    But anyway...

The best thing about the Ascona C or Cavalier Mk2 is the parts interchangeability with other Opel (Vauxhall) cars. Yes, it is possible to fit the Calibra 2.0 16V engine, make sure it's the "Redtop" engine. It's more powerful (150 Bhp) and more reliable than the Ecotec (136 Bhp) from the late Calibras. I'm pretty sure it's also possible to fit a Calibra gearbox.

The 2.0 16V 150 Bhp with the gearbox of a Calibra or Vectra with he same engine should do just fine a light car as the Ascona C.

my only problem is to find a engine like this ;b hehe ...

i know the engine will fit . but my 1.8 gt gear box lets my car go no more than 200-210 my engine is like well.. let's just say .. it takes me from 0 - 160km/t about 8 seconds ;b the gear box i have now is short shifted...

so guys pleas hollow out if u have a engine for me :)
