Isn't it priced at 150K which is like 50K less than F430?

Not my favourite. Not a fan of the side lines and cut outs. Still a nice car, however. Interior looks very bland. Going to have to wait for more with this car I think. IRL shots will show us the true flavour of this beast I think...

I'm not too sold on the front but otherwise it's not bad.
Lets see it with the top up.

for a very very long time, this is the 1st Ferrari that didn't make my heart beat fast looking at her.

^ I remember the initial reaction to the 599GTB was not unanimously positive either.

I like the unusual moldings, it is sculptural and unique .....and it is unmistakably a Ferrari.

I don't like Ferrari's newer models and this is no exception. It, as Marcus said, looks like an Italian Corvette. There are some interesting details - such as the side profile, the taillamps and the stacked pipes but the front is shameful. Looks like reworked 612.

True. And I was one of the people who expressed disgust when pictures of the 599GTB surfaced but now it's one of my favorite cars out there. What worries me about the California is the front end, the rest of the car I completely adore. The rear is a glory.

I hate the name. What a disgrace that they don't use an italian name. Not sure about the car yet.. Looks a little too busy.

I can't believe that people are complaining about a Ferrari. The car is amazing just by the fact it has a ferrari symbol on it. Where not talking about a BMW or Audi. This is a ferrari people...rejoice and be glad about it.

If you can jump up and down about a little M3, surely you can sing and dance over a new Ferrari.

    Get excited people!

Yes, it is quite busy ...but this is OK for me because it is a Ferrari and has a strong Italian accent :). Italian design is often preoccupied with expressive details -- and the details on this car are beautifully executed with artistic flare.

I wonder if organic and free flowing design element a'la Zaha Hadid is the next big thing. The car share some design elements with the Lexus LA-F and has the same appeal which is the reason why I fancy both of them.

So if Ferrari produced a Pontiac Aztec, because it is a Ferrari we should all say it's amazing? That comment defines so many people today and pertains to so many things, not just cars. It doesn't matter what it looks like, or what it is, it's a Ferrari and has the badge so automatically it is good? It doesn't matter if the girl is an idiot, or a$$hole, she's hot, so that's all the counts....

^ well no .....becaue the Aztec was created by Satan himself -- no mortal could be so evil and sadistic as to unleash such a sin on the planet.

Why did they have to install a folding roof? The car's a bit too heavy now, even for a GT.
  16. Centurion Contributing Member

Well it's 145kg lighter than the SL63 which isn't bad at all considering that it does 0-100km/h in just 3.9 second while the SL63 is half a second slower despite it's 70hp advantage. Ferrari has done a good job making such a versatile car really quick in acceleration. The California is a car with the usability of an SL63 but the speed of a 997TT. Those are pretty much the cars Ferrari used as benchmarks.

I agree with you Hassan -- this certainly is an emerging trend in auto-design.

I guess it shares a lot with the Maserati GranTurismo and the next CC from Maserati .. and that explains the front/back design ....
