Hmmm... it doesn't give me the WOW factor... Don't know why. Both cars looks good, but their timing is just so wrong. Great engine though.
lol Automatic gearbox? No. I would've been happier with a dual clutch, but BMW seems not to be able to have a DCT that can handle so much torque...unlike Porsche with the Panamera. FI engine? Hell yeah. What are you thinking? A high revving 5.5 liter V10 with 555 hp would be madness in these times. Sure it could be done. But that would mean emmisions will be crazy high and it would drink gasoline like I drink beer on a hot day. That cannot be done anymore in the EfficientDynamics era, like it or not. Plus we have the fact that this FI 4.4 V8 has 680 Nm of torque, something the high revving V10 can only dream of. And having it ready at 1300 rpm is pretty useful in such a heavy monster Automatic seems to be a technical issue (torque). I suppose it will be fixed when the F10 M5 arrives, because I seriously doubt they will offer F10 M5 with an automatic gearbox. That would be just sad.
A couple of years ago the same thing would have been said about an M version of the X5......but it's happened. Now anything is possible.
Seriously any black diffuser or anything should be added to that soapy rear,it's just too colored. Those car will look like a bar of soap without any black bumper parts
The photography was hurried because of the about turn to debut the car in New York , originally it was destined for Shanghai on the bout that China is a key progressive market for this car and it's brother. with the advent of BMW's decision to abandon the Tokyo motor show our launch cycle is now rearranged with each BMW subsidiary responsible for their own Events marketing , BMW NA will host the X6M debut , so everything has been rushed through in which it is highly in evidence. So there we have it and as expected there are both negatives and positives from enthusiasts. And also some fear aswell regarding the next M5 which is far from approved but continuing in the development process as all concentration is currently on the regular 5er getting to production first. There is still a lot of difference between the M5 and the X-M models which you will see, so there is no need to fear that by looking at this car (even if you despise the concept) that this is the direction of the next M5.
German market base prices: X5 M (555HP): €105.900 X6 M (555HP): €108.500 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S (550HP): €133.970 Audi Q7 V12 TDI (500HP): €130.600 Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG (510HP): €104.480
Remeber the old X5 S sport model? with i's black parts in the bumper and huge rims? that's what i meant, sorry for being unclear
ohh the ML is cheaper.. thats wierd.. M cars are always priced lower.. for example C63 vs M3 and the stupidly idiotic high price of RS4
The Turbo S is overpriced but the regular Turbo is €100 000 which is the sweet spot. Turbo S is merely a bonus model for people willing to pay more for power punch.
Some intresting numbers Acceleration 0–100 km/h sec 4.7 4.7 0–200 km/h sec 16.9 16.9 Standing-start km sec 23.5 23.5 In 4th/5th gear 80–120 km/h sec 4.3/5.1 4.3/5.1 Top speed km/h 250 (275km/h , M drivers package) LoL a M3 can keep up with this fatso all the way to 200 km/h.
^Yeah, what's the ML63 and turbo numbers? while u at it A C63 will still be faster from zero all the way to 200km,i expected that car to be a little bit faster than C63/M3.
