As you can see, there is hardly any difference to the standard GL equipped with AMG Sports Package. I, for one, would have liked a visual upgrade to set it apart from that. Twin-blade louvres and a bigger Star on the grille could have solved the job quite nice. But, anyway, this truck looks fine and I think it will be an awesome experience to drive it.
Mercedes has finally made their U.S. build quality match their German built models. Look at that interior. This is such a good thing since the C-Class will be built in the U.S. in a few years. Mercedes is going to be alright. Sales are going to explode over the summer and into fall. Now we await the S-Class. The END for every other luxury sedan on the planet. M
I thought I was the only one who noticed the Star was way too small for a GL. It seems MB misplaced the GL's Star on the CLS and vice versa.
To me, this is so much phatter than the G. This is what I'm talking about! That beast and 0-100 in 4,9! What's the weight difference compared with the G65 AMG? Cause IMO that one is way to slow for its crazy engine, and I got jumped on by some people here when I said that the G65 should do 0-100 under 5 seconds. I bet this big daddy weights just as much, has 100hp less and does it under 5. One sexy beast.

LOL. I was thinking the same thing. Had a CLS behind me and that giant Star looks like a big single tooth. On the GL, it looks like a baby tooth ready to fall out. Great looking Truck though, just like the ML. And I HATE the current GL and previous ML!
I agree, it is a great looking SUV, love love love the massive and aggressive front and the elegant rear. May have to trade my RR in for a new GL550 in a few years.
Does anyone remember these spy images that leaked the GL(X166)? Apparently most of us were right when we named it to be the GL63 AMG, but for some reason in April many publications tried to debunk that theory when the GL debuted. Since then, I have wondered why that spied silver GL with significant AMG treatment never surfaced in any press photos , but now I know why. The video below shows a new ad, which would've been what they were shooting in these spy photos from early March.
