Kudos to them for that front bumper though.... they proved that when you mashup an Audi gaping hole with the AMG angles, it looks far worse than either of the original two.
I will be honest, it doesn't look bad per say, but I expected a brand new car or a at least a thoroughly reworked one. This is a just a Ford like facelift. M
I can't believe that within the realm of cars that sell for over a decade, you have icons such as the 911, the SL, G-Class, and now.... LS? The LS is really gonna be one of those cars that sells for over a decade? How the hell can it be viable for even another year? The car looked tired several years ago (was never a hot looker to begin with). Of course it's not "ugly", it looks like a generic slab of Sedan, unoffensive, simple, fairly elegant, pure, etc. But unless they want to attract the classic Lexus buyer who wants something as character-worthy as a piece of white paper, they needed a little extra character.
Is this supposed to be the NEW LS? Or maybe just a major FL, because they need a bit more time on the new one, which will blow the socks of the automotive world?
I like it, for it to be a Lexus but the rear end doesn't seem to match with the side maybe because everything is new and the side is the only thing retained from the previous LS of you Catch what I'm saying. Everything else is new and aggressive while the side and c pillar seem to still retain that calm design
I am not hating it. Just that the established German trio + the upcoming S-class has nothing to worry about. Same with the GS or rather dejavu! Toyota/Lexus has neither reinvented the luxury car nor the midsize luxury segment. Pitty actually...I hoped for better because I do not want the Koreans (copy+paste brigade) to catch up to the Japanese. East? I vote JAPANESE, I mean in all fairness they do it their way not copy+paste like the Koreans. For the world I always vote GERMAN! German trio rules, baby! Yeeeeaaah! Always will and you knew that
I wouldn't call it hate, I will say it is a massive disappointment because Lexus failed to make the most out of the brand exposure and momentum created by the LFA. For once they have a genuinely world class product that is desirable, it was their chance to re-invent the entire brand, yet they have managed to follow up with this half baked effort for their top of the range car.
I'm not trying to say this LS is a really great product or anything, but I didn't think the car looked that bad? Maybe its just me haha.
New Vs Old.. http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2012/07/new-photo-gallery-of-2013-lexus-ls460.html i think they should call it The "OLD New" Lexus LS instead of "ALL New"..
To be a new car it is just a facelift, but to be a facelift, that is a mega huge facelift, probably like the facelifted E Class. By the way, look at the huge navi display. Is that a 13" display ? It is larger than the in the GS which and the new S Class.
Perfectly said. This is a squandered opportunity. Even the C-pillars and doors are the same. Heck, even the outline of the rearlights are the same from a profile view. It's not a bad car, but just based on the warmed-over look. I even like some of the elements as it gives some distinctive Japanese character. But I see no reason other than saving thousands of dollars and Lexus' reputation for reliability, why one would pick this over a new design like the S-class.
