650i Coupé: 1845 kg M6 Coupé: 1925 kg 650i GranCoupé: 1940 kg M6 GranCoupé: 2020 kg (est.) M5 Sedan: 1945 kg I know it is heavy, but for such a car, it is not a big deal IMO. Even if it was lighter, at around 2.000 kg, 100 more or 100 less will not be felt. Anyway such cars would never see the track, however, yet being so heavy they have potential, just look at the M5 F10. If to talk about an M4 or M2 (M3/1 Series M) then low weight is more important.
I think that makes it 80kg more than the M5 so you are probably right in thinking the M6GC will weigh even more. I'm purely guessing here but I think the RS6/7 will shadow the M5 weight wise which if the case isn't at all bad when you consider they're awd.
The S7's main competitor is the 650iGC which weights 1940kg.... 82kg. less than the S7 and the BMW still has 25HP more If their AWD ads so much weight than I guess I'll stick with a RWD brand
When is the weight increase stop. "Adding power makes you faster on the straights. Subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere" I would like to see Audi make the RS7 with the same horsepower the S7 has, but with 200/250kg lighter.
Haven't really followed this car much recently, what's its retail price and will it closely follow the price of the S7? After comparing UK prices of the A7 3.0TFSI vs the 640iGC I can't believe that the 650iGC M/Sport is competing on price with the S7 especially as the difference between the 640i and 650i in coupe form is almost £8k. A7 3.0TFSI S/Line - £49880 640iGC M/Sport - £66045 That's a huge £16165 of difference. If the S7 ends up at £70k which is probably the price of the 650iGC then it will be a dead duck in the water and sales failure.
I know somebody who has an Audi A7 3.0 tfsi modified by ABT. That car also has 420 hp and is a lot cheaper then the S7.
Wasn't yet? Audi S7 2013 First drive CarAndDriver Zero to 60 mph: 4.0 sec Standing ¼-mile: 12.4 sec http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2013-audi-s7-first-drive-review
Now that is a god damn decent time for the S7. So it means aprox 4.2-4.3 seconds to 100km/h! That is really good. Waiting for the first head to head against its rivals CLS and Panamera!
