2012 Porsche Panamera GTS is tasty, but doesn't satisfy all our desires

I keep thinking this should have been 2WD and with a manual as a no-cost option. Porsche should be ashamed for not painting those side sills, and most likely its an extra charge for them to do so. No launch control either. Not feeling it.

This my ladies and gentlemen, is the best Panamera. 7,100 rpm? That's might awesome with that engine output and acceleration time. Although it doesn't have AWD, it makes up for it by a wider rear track. It's a brilliant sweet spot between the Panamera S and Turbo. It's just a shame they didn't manage to strip some of the weight, regardless, it will sell well.

    It does have launch control.
It does look good there, but then again you can't see the hunchback.

So is it AWD or RWD? I remember reading another article that said it had AWD, but this one doesn't say anything. Hope it is RWD, cause all the Panamera AWD models have been panned for sucky steering feel. Also wish they had made manual an option, even the Cayenne GTS offered a manual.

Porsche wants you pay extra to paint them. There is a similar option on existing Pana models.

Wow, interior looks even better than the one in Turbo S.

Porsche also charges the customers if they want the black plastic side mirror support painted in body color. The Panamera still looks as hideous as ever.

AWD it is after searching the net.

Awesome, but it looks terrible with the 90's esque black lower body panels and those wheels. Probably the worst looking Panny of the bunch, although I like love the front perhaps the most. With some paint down there, aluminum around the windows (like the S and Turbo), and even the S wheels (especially the Turbo wheels), it's just right.

That not entirely true. Black cladding is sometime used to give sports cars a sleeker horizontal profile. It makes the car look less heavy in the metal.

    0-160 km/h in 10,9 s - that's impressive!

Whats not true? Not debating how it looks, only that you likely pay extra to have all the blacked out plastic painted. The regular Panamera has this as an option and knowing Porsche they'll offer that option on the GTS also.

Shame about the AWD. The car could have benefitted from a slight weight loss and all that glorious power to the rear wheels.

Naturally it looks good going around the track with the wing up and spread out.

GTS is 264 lbs heavier than the S. Worth the 30 additional HP?

    S - 3968 lb.
    GTS - 4232 lbs

That is probably a base, non air suspension and what not S right? The GTS is actually a better buy than a S though money wise. To option up a S to GTS levels, its like 117K.
