The question is if the BMW X5 and X6 can co-exist?
Why can't the MINI Countryman and MINI Paceman?

The next MINI Concept (@ Geneva this March) will be a lesson on how the brand can be expanded further , but downwards.
But the MINI Coupe is imminent.

Yes we called frequently , but we kept on getting diverted to their Indian Call-Contact Centre.
    Still on the line....

Four door is yesteryears "it item". According to my chinese calander, 2011 will be the year of two door SUV coupes. Nissan has drawn first blood with a convertible CUV.

    His words: Jätteful
    Translation: Very Ugly..

the rear is a huge improvement, it makes the area a lot more elegant(compared to the chunky rear of the countryman)

i wonder how it is to sit in the rear

now show me the cooper s version

Compare this case with the one X5 and X6 one is not accurate IMO. When you side the roof and profile of each BMW SUV you can clearly notice the differences. The problem with the countryman is that it already is quite sporty, and this Concept is nothing but a quick attempt by BMW to fight the Evoque.

I was expecting something more aggressive, like the MINI Coupe but in SUV form.

It's hard to get a sense of the cars proportions by looking at these press images. Going by the cool shape of the Countryman, this Paceman could be a slow slung and long SUV.

So? This means your brain-age is 5 years ;)

I think the X5 and X6 are as different as Countryman and Paceman. Just take a look at the differences:

Paceman looks way more sporty, and imo quite different. Different enough and still be a Mini, at least!

I say port over the design cues to the Countryman and call it a day. I'm sure people will buy this, but at the same time many will be confused between this and the regular 2-door mini. They'll just see it as "mini Mini on steroids."

    More or less yes:)

MINI Copycatman: Hi-jacked concept and styling elements from an erstwhile disposed of and now "inferior" marque?

MINI - Milk it for what it's worth. It'll no doubt pay dividends in a world of fickle fashion-consciousness and brand/label obsession. Can't expect us passionate enthusiasts to approve though but then, who cares?

Looks hideous but it's a Mini so it will sell alot.

Looks great! Only thing I would like to see is it be one color. Other than that it looks like it's ready for production.

as an enthusiast....i like it, even if it is a bunch of marketing hyperbole on wheels. It still looks pretty darn cool and won't break the bank if you're looking for something original and British, unlike the Range Rover Evoque - which also takes the cake for lamest new car name of 2010. BUILD IT.

And MINI, you should have called it the Pacman and launched at Google's headquarters for Pacman's 30th anniversary.

Former MINI-Design manager Gert Hildebrand is Six-Foot Plus in Height.
This is how low the new MINI Paceman Concept is and how the production car will follow.

I am really pleased it will be offered with a 5 door option! Do you think it will have the same engine line up as the Countryman? Hopefully it will have the same option as the countryman with the rear bench, get rid of the 4 seat layout and that silly rail. Anymore news about the Paceman yet anyone?

interested to know about the viability of that color anywhere in the MINI lineup...
