It seems the huge alu stripe ion the current X5 will be replaced by a much thinner one.

It should then probably be revealed @ Geneva 2013.

The days of Geneva being the default location for new car reveals have long gone. With the New York Motor Show between March 29th and April 7th 2013, and the Shanghai motor show between 21st and 29th April 2013, I certainly wouldn't say Geneva is a "probably", but rather a "possibility".

Indeed. China or USA would be a better location for a World Premiere.

And when we have to choose between China and New York? Doesn't BMW sell the most SUV cars in the US still? Wuldn't that be the most logical choice?
But then again, the NY motor show isn't a AAA car show, so to speak. NAIAS is the only big one in America...

^^I agree. NY show makes more sense and is 2nd to NAIAS. But could it be Detroit?
  15. Levi68 Well-Known Member

    Detroit is NAIAS.

I have known that for a long time.

I don't think the new X5 will be revealed anytime soon that Detroit or Geneva 2013, the e70 has been revealed in august 2006 and hasn't been display at Paris 2006, so I don't think the new X5 will come before the IAA 2013 but probably few week after the show.
  19. Levi68 Well-Known Member

Indeed. The X5 is not yet in final testing phase.

I wonder how long it will take before we see the FEP cars. Can't be too long now....
