Not sure if these have been posted.... I'm a bit of a Beetle Fan... and since the new SLK is going to look like a pig I'm thinking this might be an option.
i wished that the next beetle leaves the retro roots behind, but the new one seems to be even more retro then the last one - e.g roof line
More or less, lol. One thing those cars share very much in common.... Is that I'd never drive one without being forced against my will, kicking and screaming..... Actually, scratch that, I'd never ride in one.... :eusa_danc
Omigodomigod! It's bigger than oprah!!!!! OMIGODOMIGOD! IT'S BIGGER THAN OPRAH!!!!! The new VW Beetle was apparently given away to the audience members of the Oprah Winfrey show. I wonder when it will debut? Not at LA and now they say wont be @ Detroit? Geneva?... Could be spoofed for MINI USA advert. - amongst the craziness of the screaming and expressions , guy puts hand up "Can I not get a MINI instead?".... please?
YouTube - Oprah's Favorite Things 2010 - Beetle Giveaway. The full reveal including sneak preview. You might want to turn off or turn down your speakers....Just saying. Wonder if anyone needed new pants? Will wait to see what it looks like minus camouflage.
If there are two once-popular cars which have a tarnished brand name it's the PT Cruiser and current generation VW Beetle. When they first hit the market everyone was hot on them but when the product life cycle hit maturity, women were the only ones interested in the car. For a man it's completely unthinkable to drive a VW Beetle and it will take some miracle work to make it bisexually appealing to both men and women.
My spies tell me a Concept is heading to Detroit which more or less corresponds to a VW photoshoot commencing within LA incidentally where MINI heads next week. The SLK-Klasse is also there. Although the pictures are less than useless with a sheet covering the car you can make out large shiny chrome wheels destined for a Concept car.
Lol..surprised to know they didn't have it in the first place. Man shitty economy made people go crazy over any free stuff.
Are you allowed to sell it, if you won it from Oprah? What a catch 22 if not, I mean, you get a brand new car, but you're damned to drive it!
As long as the car is signed over to you, you can sell it. Because whoever gets the car will have to pay the taxes. Not everyone will have a couple grand laying around to pay the taxes on their "free" car.
That's a hot impression I could get behind. Sadly, the production car will impossibly feature such athletic surfacing or protruding surfacing.
