IMO the ad does work unless you are a die hard car enthusiast. Most normal people are not going to notice stuff like head lights is off or the bland color or non sporty grill on C. Like you said, it is a cool concept and it subliminally portrays MB as old school. At least that is how it stuck me when I saw it on TV. It is only what I watched it again on You Tube, I noticed how deceptive it was.

I find this sort of advertising desperate and pathetic. And despite their efforts the c-class still looks good.

True, at first glance it does work, especially if you're apart of the 'mass' since the LEDs does make the car look futuristic. But then looking at both cars at their respective dealerships will provide a different angle. Would love to see MB do a funny counter attack making bratwurst sausages in different sizes morph into Audi's product range.:razz::razz::razz::razz::razz::razz:

Besides that, I find the C-class to look very original and luxurious in that colour and trim:

Yeah, it does look very elegant and luxurious in those pics, but I think that is exactly what the ad is trying to play up vs a more sporty looking A4. Also I don't think it will have any direct impact on A4 vs C class sales, no one (sensible) is going to buy a car based on just one ad, but it is MB's image that will take a hit since it is already viewed as the more mature brand of the 3 Germans.

    Lol cool add..
Probably MB wont even bother respoding.. cause audi is a fart in space..
    But i hope they will:D

A friend to me recently bought the new Audi A4 Avant, without LEDs lights. Not to be rude but without the LEDs the car almost look like his previous A4 Avant. It's the LEDS that make a real difference from new vs old A4.

Instead of those kinds of ads, what Audi should have been doing is making sure the new A4 is launched in the U.S. with the new 3.0L supercharged V6. That would have spoken louder to its competitors and to potential customers more than any ad.

hey guys i sat in a a4 two days back and to be honest i was not so impressed by the car.it looks ok not ugly but nothing inspiring or different i find the c class much better looking overall.the a4 is a very big car for its class i think audi is confused its almost a size off a a6 or e class yes it has benifits like very good rear leg room and a huge boot as always in a audi as for the interiro i sat in a car with full black well the quality is down from the last a4 in fact i liked the last a4 interiro more i mean the beige facelifted one..

the buttons and fit and finish in my view is not near the c class the c is way way better interioir imo also the steering functions are a bit behind merc and bmw

it is more sppcious car but it is also a bigger car..i would take the c anytime ...

A woman at my work was about to buy the new Audi A4 but she turned it down. She thought the interior look to cheap and plastic for the price. Instead she ordered a Passat CC Coupé.

And I thought the interior quality wasnt an important factor but she is a living proof that I was wrong.

hey i agree after sitting in the a4 the quality is a real let down never expected it to be like that not after the last a4 its very bad and then they do that stupid add what is it that the a4 has over the c besides led lights

I thought the LEDs were standard.:cwm1::cwm1::cwm1:

Just like Xenon lights for BMW its an extra option. But its twice as much as BMW's Xenon lights.

(BMW tar 6900 kr för Xenon, Audi tar typ 12.000 kr för att få LED lamporna fram.) Så är det i Sverige iallafall.

Audi AG has just registered trademark A4L

It seems they are thinking to offer LWB A4 in Chinese market (analog to A6L).

Perhaps they are just preventing another car company from using that model designation. :eusa_thin

    Lighter and more fuel efficient

New details are starting to emerge about the 2014 Audi A4 (B9).

According to AutoBild, the car will ride on the MLB Evo platform which will enable it to weigh 120 to 150 kg (265 to 331 lbs) less than the current model. Despite the reduced mass, the A4 is expected to grow in size to battle the enlarged BMW 3-Series.

Engine options are still a closely guarded secret, but the TDIs are expected to produce 150 to 300 PS (110 kW / 148 hp to 221 kW / 296 hp). Likewise, the petrols should develop 150 to 350 PS (110 kW / 148 hp to 257 kW / 345 hp). To improve efficiency, the models will reportedly be outfitted with an engine stop/start system, brake energy regeneration and a thermal energy recovery system.

If that doesn't sound eco-friendly enough, the A4 plug-in hybrid is rumored to have a rear-axle electric motor that will enable the car to travel 30 to 60 km (19 to 37 miles) on electricity alone. Additionally, this setup will offer an all-wheel drive system dubbed e-Quattro that will have no mechanical connection between the axles.

Last but not least, there's word of a CNG variant that will be launched as part of Audi's e-gas project.

Interesting is that in Middle East, you get the 3.0TFSI engine with 272hp (the same that will come in the new Q5).
The car sprints to 100km/h in just 5.4 seconds.
