Mystery Mercedes AMG to Debut at New York!!!!

On April 4th, Mercedes AMG is set to reveal an all-new AMG model at the New York Auto Show. An anonymous reader sent us these images which are posted in the Mercedes AMG Private Lounge web site for AMG owners only. They don't reveal much, but look pretty sweet.

In the past Mercedes has revealed AMG models at NY such as the CL 65 (W215) and SL 65 in 2004 and E 63 in 2006. But which one could it be? Perhaps new generation W216 CL 65, CLS 65 or even an E 65?

OMG I can't wait to see what this is!! My guess is that it will be the CLK Black Series? All bets must be in by April 2nd!!!!

C63 or CL65?

Oh hell, I forgot about the CL65, that is the next AMG model to be shown. It is the only fitting since there is a S65 AMG already.

Then again looking at that picture, if that is the real car underneath that can't be a CL, looks like a CLK Black Series to me.

If you have a close look, you can only see one door grip... so it must be a coupe...
... and the car is too short to be a CL, IMO

(don't ask me which engine is to be released... my knowledge of the AMG engines is rather poor)

Yeah it looks like its a 2 door so i doubt a cls or the new c63...should be in my opinion CLK BLACK SERIES and i looks like it has a boot spoiler similars to a clk dtm stlying

Why a black CLK when there is CLK-DTM and why not wait for next generation instead?

C63 AMG Sportcoupe

Somehow, the rear shape, at least what is visible underneath the cloth, seems to have some design elements of the C-Class rear to it. :eusa_thin

I doubt they'd make a V8 Sportcoupe though. But they did make a C32 AMG Sportcoupe and a C30 CDI AMG Sportcoupe...

but see this looks to short for a CL
and it cant be C cause it aint 4 door
and that doesent look like a CLK rear..infact it doesent look like any MB rear
the rear looks chopped off.. like the new Skyline GTR..

but if i where to bet..judging from the pic of rear wing..i would say CL65..or maybe CL63 Black Edition

eeh what? since when is there a Coupe of C-class and why relese it before C63 Sedan? Unless you talk about CLK?

BTW the car is getting same wheels as the SLK in the background. is it SLK black series we see?

I am also given to say that this is a CLK...and definitively a Black Series, because of the carbon fibre trim...but on that photo above the car looks a bit to long for such a Mercedes - maybe it is a CL... :t-hands:

I have heard that AMG models in the future will have a modified bodystyle and not just add-on bodykits anymore so I'm guessing this is the CLK Black series, with a modified rear end (and possibly front, too)...

Because of the profile, I would say it is a CL!!

I think carwimmer may be correct

it could well be a c3 spotscoupe

the front overhang looks very much as shot as the c class

what ever it is 4th april is damm far way for me
