wait till i see the real car for final judgement, but both FL and pre FL look good in different way as 2 different design language. So the pre FL would not look dated next to the FL.

The facelifted E-class looks ab-so-lute-ly horrible. The interior is nice, but the exterior has to be the worst MB sedan in 30 years.

Worst part has to be the hood cut-line. I have never seen such an ugly one on any car....

Terrible, terrible..... those headlights are awful, were they inspired by the new Clio? Without doubt this FL W212 is one of the worst Mercedes designs ever.

I really hope the drastic FL brings the prices of the pre FL W212 to the floor, as it would be a great opportunity for me to get one.

    Regards.

Terrible. The interior and rear are both better than before, but the interior just steals part of the special feeling of the CLS interior. The front might look better than the luxury trim of the pre-FL, not no way better than the AMG Sport. And the new AMG Sport Pack is just a BAD JOKE, the grille is absolutely hideous, fugly like any other MB. The side profile looks worse.

Over all, the E remains as the weakest alternative on the segment.

I love the headlights, but still trying to warm up to the bumper.

Mixed feelings at the moment so I will reserve judgement until I see it in the metal, but so far I think I am with K-A.
In the past all you had to do was buy new head and tail lamps, the odd wing/door mirror and you had a face lifted MB.
Not any more. I think MB are becoming too 'Far Eastern' in their styling.

Sigh... look at the vast amount of empty spaces around the command screen.

To the new members of this forum, please keep the discussions on topic, we do not want another Merc vs BMW vs Audi thread.

Technical specifications are yet to be confirmed, but the images show that the E-class will wear the ‘merged’ single headlamp units – first seen on prototype test mules – in place of the previous two-piece items.

In addition, the E-class has undergone a thorough aesthetic reworking, with the bonnet, front grille and bumper and rear light clusters all redesigned.
Full details of the new E-class are expected shortly.

The way the hood is shaped in between the headlights and the grille, on the car with the 'sport grille' (or whatever MB calls it, the red model at least). I feel sick just looking at it :D

The standard grille with the star on the hood looks far better (still not pretty though).
But I am not going to ruin the party here, so I'll stop with the negativity.

I think the Sports grill is essentually the same as the normal grill, just with the outer chrome part painted in body colour. That's why it looks stupid.

Edit on closer inspection it isn't. It's a diff front bumper. Same result though. I hope they don't force AMG buyers to take that sportsgrill.

I don't know what to say about it yet.

The interior is an improvement. Front doesnt look as good as the pre-facelift. And the rear still looks like a car from Korea or some other asian country.
