Just wanted to see a cut away/diagram of the engine. I was looking at one of the M112 engines and noticed the block seemed long at the front, much longer than is necessary for the cylinders or valve train. I'm guessing the timing chain fits into the extra space.
Yes. Audi just sticks a crappy belt on the front of the engine, while MB uses a chain. Never send a belt to do a chains job!!!
