Merc1 said:Their popularity is the price of success. It is up to Mercedes to now re-invent themselves as an exclusive carmaker again. This won't happen with their "regular" models even again. It is the V12 and AMG models that are somewhat exclusive, depending on where you live in the world. I don't see their tech any more complicated than Audi or BMW and in most cases a Mercedes is simpler. The fancy brakes on their way out thank goodness.

When you establish a credibility and a heritage like MB has, that just doesn't fade away. It stays for time now and time that is still to come. I wish they were more brave w/ their design philosiphy as well instead of challenging BMW's controversial design theme w/ their own. Comes off as very contrived and unoriginal, even though a lot of their new cars look fairly decent(W221).
