Looks okay, not stunning but it`s looking just fine. I can imagine a much beautiful design for those new Merc SUVs.
I like it... a lot! That is the best looking SUV (provided that it comes out looking like that) in its class, the X1 is ugly but the Q3 is acceptable.
Mercedes have been incredibly slow in seizing opportunities in the small luxury car segment. The A and B-Class weren't global blockbusters and the Smart brand is basically a non-competitor. In the UK the small Mercedes SUV is the ML! Rather terrible isn't it?
I agree centurion Mercedes has been very slow on hitting the smaller sized market especially the SUV the competitors have her in SA two smaller models to the ML Mercedes only has a ML...The GLK never came here i think it would have been a good seller...Also on the smaller cars they have been late but seems now with the new A they have hit the market with a BANG...
Looks like the compact SUV will be called GLA, and production is supposed to start at the end of 2013. Read more: Report: Mercedes-Benz to Overhaul Naming Scheme - Rumor Central :t-cheers:
It appears that Audi is not the only German luxury automaker that has caught thecrossover fever.. Mercedes-Benz is reportedly developing a small crossover dubbed the GLA-Class that will slot under the GLK-Class SUV in its lineup. It will take on segment heavyweights such as the BMW X1, the Audi Q3 and the Range Rover Evoque. The upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class will ride on the same MFA platform as the B-Class and the recently-launched A-Class. England’s CAR Magazine claimsthat it will measure approximately 174 inches long, 70 inches wide and 59 inches tall. These dimensions make it longer, narrower and lower than the Audi Q3.In order to better compete against the Evoque, Mercedes might offer the GLA-Class as both a three-door and a five-door. An AMG-tuned model is not out of the question, especially if Audi decides to build the RS Q3 concept that it presented at the Beijing Motor Show. The MFA platform is not the only thing that the GLA-Class and the B-Class will share. Mercedes’ upcoming crossover will reportedly use the same range of four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines that are found in the B-Class.In entry-level models power will be sent exclusively to the front wheels. More expensive offerings will be available with all-wheel drive. The GLA-Class will be built in Kecskemét, Hungary. It is scheduled to make its European debut in late 2013, and it will likely be built and sold in China shortly after its launch. It is too early to say whether or not the GLA-Class will make the trip over to the United States.
Personally, I feel the Evouge is the best of the lot, that is perfection. As far as SUVs/SAVs go, I will pick the Range Rover over anything- including my favourite brands: Porsche and BMW. The only other SAV I have, over time, fallen in love with is the X6 M. I have a feeling, though, that should Porsche come up with an X6 M equivalent I may change sides.
GCF already has a thread for it. http://www.germancarforum.com/community/threads/mercedes-benz-mini-suv-a-k-a-gla-blk.20691/page-8
Die Welt The GLA is expected by the end of 2013 according to "Auto Bild". Visually, the GLA is more dynamic than its bigger brother, the GLK. Like the other MFA body versions the SUV is driven through the front wheels, but will also offer all-wheel drive.
