Looks like a shrunken BMW X3, but it is cute. Why do they bother with such pics though? Clearly this SUV is going to be a jacked up A-Class which will look nothing like this.

This is actually VERY close to the finished product. VERY close.

Is going to end up looking like this:

Yeah right. Can't see that right now.

That was a mule. This is the real thing, you can see the obvious resemblance with rendering.

So here we have a mule, which is really just an A-class on a jacked up suspension.

And here we have the actual product testing.

This could get real ugly when the covering comes off. I hope I'm wrong.

I really hope so too, but I don't count on it.

I don't know why but looks more promising in these shots

Something about the rear just seems off. Plus it's starting to look more like a baby R-class instead of an SUV.

The front does have more presence....but I'm still concerned. Might end up with the same fate as the R-class after a few years.

I hope it works out in the end, I really do.
We might be pleasantly surprised when the 'camo' comes off.

The rear looks awkward with those tail lamps which seem to extend beyond the rear fender.
I hope they change them for final production.

Tail lamps are strange, but i'm warming up a little.
MB is obviously fully committed to lowering the entry level and expanding the brand.

Also needed more in rear. Would have been easy to extend the rear about another 5 inches. Boot space is key in the SUV market. Especially after how bad the A was ripped.

Audi's 'Q' proportions work well. This appears to be as ungainly, perhaps even more so, as the X1.
