E-Class Mercedes Benz E-Class Coupe Facelift

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is a range of executive cars manufactured by Mercedes-Benz in various engine and body configurations. Produced since September 1953, the E-Class falls as a midrange in the Mercedes line-up, and has been marketed worldwide across five generations.

A prototype for the revised Mercedes Benz E-Class has shed enough camouflage for us to see what the facelift will bring. As the photos of this coupe show, the E-Class will finally get rid of the strange double headlights. Right now, a bit of camo is making us believe they’re still split, but the assembly is simpler and more elegant.

The four-headlight look has been with the E-Class since the 1995 W210, but the design is especially ugly on the angular current generation and has been frequently criticized. The LED daytime driving lights will be integrated in the headlight unit as well.

Revisions to the front bumper aren’t that substantial, though they are enough to distinguish this from the outgoing model. The rear bumper will also be refreshed, while the taillights will likely only change the graphics.

I've always wondered what the hell Mercedes is testing when they show certain models towing things. Looks hilarious. Double funny since you will never see an E-Class coupe ever, ever, never towing anything.

Will the E Coupe retain the quad lights while the Sedan doesn't? Or is it trickery?

This thing will need a MAJOR interior overhaul to stay relevant. The current E Coupe's interior is arguably equal to, or even below the C Coupe's interior.

Dash wise, I don't think by much of a margin. The seats, and some accessories here and there are, but the interior of the E Coupe is extremely lacking. It's like a cross between the putrid pre-facelift W204 with some true E (Sedan) forms and pieces.

Probably testing the towing capacity, or carrying equipment for the testers if they ever break down.

It looks like they're gone, just like the sedan. Sigh, I really liked them. They were an E's signature.

I agree with you K-A, the C coupe does have a better interior than the E coupe (which really is a dressed up C)

The front already looks like a good update. I like that MB seems to dismiss the old four eyes face for the E-Class range.

i'm sorry but i don't agree, e-coupe interior is beautiful, an artwork of understated beauty for the most part, and it may come as a bit of a surprise, but i think the e-coupe interior is better than 204 and even 212, as the formers are too much concentrated on straight angulr contours, therefore IMO a bit over styled, 207 on other hand is just right balanced, the only update imo to add aluminuim vents, that could be neat touch. i do think quad-lamps owuld go.

Joke post?
Here in Europe, people use their cars. Towing is part of that.

BTW, for the record, I find the E coupe/cabrio to be the worst MBs in the line up. They look so bad.

e-coupe imo is beautiful except some minor issues, such as size mainly, e-cabrio fair enough lol, has to one of if notworst looking mb.

The E Cabrio looks bad indeed. Looks like it was exclusively designed specifically for 40something year old women.

The Coupe had a lot of promise. I just think it's "cutesiness" ruined it. That's why it's VERY apparent that it's a C-Class, it's too compact and too much "cute factor". To be a real E-Class, it should have been a little larger, almost as big as a 6-Series at least (5 Series Coupe basically), and it should have looked more serious, more strong and mature.

A true E Coupe, with size similar to a 6-Series, would have been in my garage right now, I have no doubt about it.

And you drive an E Class ?

Is that a rhetorical question?

I drive what I deem is a true E-Class, the Sedan, not a C with an E badge on it. Had M-B put the E Coupe in either the true E (Sedans) wheelbase architecture (longer than the 105" C platform it's on), and pushed it to around 190" long (true Mid-Size territory whereas the current E Coupe is between Compact and Mid-Size, shorter than a Mustang, for example), and made it look more "serious" like the Sedan, it would have possibly been the best looking M-B on the market right now.

Anything that Jack gets his hands on is pretty damn cool looking. :)

Where the hell is he, anyway? How can we put out an APB on the guy to make sure he's alright?
