    Mercedes-Benz 2013 W222 S-Class (Spy pics & info)

I do have to honour to start this thread, sadly, only for posting the very first CGI about the new S-Class, featuring organic shapes again.

I post on the car forum carspyshots.com and there is a supercars insider that has a few clues about the upcomming MB design. Stating with the new CLS, the design won´t be s hard and squared as on the new E-Class, but softer, with new shoulder lines and with agressive front ends. Acording to this insider info, the new S-Class will feature a similar face to the next CLS, with the headlights remaining the shape they´ve been featuring along all the S-Class generations, but this time being smaller and slimmer, entirirely LED, perhaps.

Anyway, I´m expecting to see Huck´s CGI about this new S-Class.

Back to the 2014 S-Class. I`m looking through my crystal ball about the new S and something tells me it will have an all aluminum structure.

I`m thinking at that fact too.

    That render looks hideous. HIDEOUS!

About the materials mix, looks like they're doing away with their HSS and Advanced HSS to make way for aluminum, more "warm foaming" (what is that?) and some plastic. Much more mixture, let's hope those materials can be as strong as the HSS and AHSS.

^ That render is completely off. Just like the 5er is off. But 5er was close to release and still off, so imagine the S....

What car is that alu skeleton of?
Rear lights look C classish..but it seems larger..

    Is it the S?
  9. K-A Well-Known Member

Yeah, now that I look at it more I notice that it's an old render. I was wondering what Bimmer they were showcasing, but I assumed it was the F01 facelift or something, lol. Damn, I hope the W222 has nothing near that mess of lines and sheetmetal play.

    I think the skeleton's a C, btw.

I know the W222 is a whole different S class, but the W221 rear lights goes down in my books as an all time favourite design

Do you mean the current one or the former ones?

Damn, this W222 is really top secret...

I would like so much to be like my brother. He doesn`t care about test mules, spy shots, pre-infos, rumors or anything like this about cars. He just likes them when all the job is done. He like to comment only about real deal. He is waiting for the w222 so much, and he didn`t see even 1 spy shot.

Yeah..apparently you can get nuclear launch codes easier than any new pics of the car..

Gorden Wagener may have dropped a hint recently? ;)

"We are pursuing grandeur as the highest form of the aesthetic."

Autonews Europe asked: "Will you dig out still more ideas from the past, such as the gullwing door?"

Gorden Wagener replied: "Mercedes will never build retro models, at most a modern interpretation like the SLS. The G-Class is an example of an icon that you could carefully reinterpret, but I won't reveal more at this point."

The might get back the number 1 luxury sales leader.

    They always have been.
A lot of people seem to forget that the current W221 S-Class was released in 2005, the current 7er is from 2009 and the A8 from 2010.
That's why the Merc. might look a bit outdated, when they release the new one in Q4 2012 they have a massive leap forward in comparison to the other 2.
Just like it happend back in '05!

    Stop talking nonsense

They slightley cocked up during the 1998-2005 period 'cause they merged with Chrysler, but they still are the most respected elite car manufacturer.
Audi or BMW will never reach that level, 'cause if you want to take on an institution like Mercedes you can't be just as good, you've got to be at least 20 times better.
