Somehow I do not see the point of the 62 S from an owner's perspective. Why have a chauffer-driven driver's car, which is what the S version is supposed to be? Or, if they insist on having the S cars, why not delete the regular trim with the 550 hp engine completely, and have only the trim differences? And yes, keep prices the same. Thus, MM would be better able to justify the already outrageous prices they charge for a package that can easily find a substitute in the S class. The Mayback 53 (or 51, cant keep track now) is a far better addition to the Maybach line.
Pointless..... but I still really like it. I would consider owning one if I was in the market for it -- it is better value than Katie Holmes wedding dress at least.
Last weekend I got a close view of the 57 S and its interior and suprsingly the car looks amazing. It was black and had white designo interior with carbon fibre panels. It was really beautiful and a car I could see myself buying if Madonna adopts(buys me from my parents) me.
Cute article comments: With more car-loving rich bastards than perhaps any city in the world, Los Angeles is easily the most fitting place for Maybach to launch its new flagship-among-flagships: the 2007 Maybach 62 āSā. Holy... These two pictures are fantastic. I think my allegiance for the Phantom is almost swayed... :icondrool
No offense, but have you ever sat in a Maybach, Phantom or Arnage? They're three completely different cars and the quality of each is practically equal. I'm sure most of us prefer the classic lines of the Arnage, even more of "us" the rapper wannabe "gangsta" look of the Rolls-Royce, but the Maybach was intended to be a modern car for the modern era. Unless you're referring to something entirely different. ??
If you notice, the car looks the best from the angles that make the lines of the car look "straight." Mercedes needs to go back to classic, straight, boxy (now Bentley) designs And has anyone else noticed that the Chauffeur is always reading a newspaper..?
