French design house Hermes is known in the fashion world for its premium leather goods, and now the luxury label has used its unique sense of style and material for the Smart ForTwo minicar, with the release of a new special edition model. The new model takes advantage of Hermes' specialization in leather goods, with the interior receiving a generous helping of leather trim to give it a more fashionable look compared to the standard cloth seats found in the Smart ForTwo. The leather covers the door panels, dashboard and seats, as well as other minor details such as the handbrake. The use of leather is accompanied by a special canvas, known as 'Toile H' (French for 'Canvas H'), on other surfaces of the cabin. More: motorauthority
^ he he, I feel the same Julius, nice interior ...but is also quite pointless. Besides, I thought the whole point of the Smart was for it to be a kind of 'anti-status' vehicle.
Very nice! And cheap, too: around 36.000€ I believe, so only the price of 4 normal Passion-edition Smart... Not much for a few leather application and an aftermarket GPS, don't you find? Thart said the finish looks extremely impressive, and even the two small dials are coverred with leather. If you don't have money problems you couldn't be bothered by the price, so why not having the best-finished smart ever to see daylight?
^ Curious attitude ...but then you are French ...a nation with strong Socialist ideals that also happens to be the producer of many of the most exclusive luxury goods on Earth
We French people are full of contradictions, that is what makes us so interesting... We don't like to do things like the others would do.
What Smart needs to do is fix the engine and tranmission for the U.S. market cars, and bring over some Brabus tuned versions with engine changes, not just cosmetics. This Toyota IQ is going to be a rude awakening for Smart if they don't act now. M
