Why on earth would they start ZR-1 from idle 1000 rpm and use launch control at 4000 rpm on the other cars?? Ridiculous.
I drove like that once..................in a blizzard. The 458i is my favorite sports car, non-supercar. M
We differ there Tarek, a C63 or M3 is not a sports cars to me. They are sports coupes, or GT cars compared to a 911 or a 458, IMO of course. M
...Ferrari answers to McLaren "Lining up alongside the 458 Spider is the entire Ferrari range, including the 458 Italia, the maximum expression of an extreme, high-performance driving experience. Today the V8 berlinetta is even more sporty. New control software for the magnetorheological dampers improves body control, enhancing the feedback in sporty driving. With the manettino in RACE - in other words, at the highest level of performance with all the dynamic vehicle control systems still engaged - an evolved software for the F1 dual-clutch transmission makes gearchanges even more decisive, while there’s even faster acceleration out of bends thanks to an improved calibration of the F1-Trac traction control. Motorweek's times are always slow. Look how the guy drives through the slalom, clearly not a pro at this. M
Well, apart from the launch, the results are actually pretty good. They did 100-200km/h in about 7,2s with the 458, which is awesome considering this hadly was a well prepared press car (as there is none in US as far as I know), clearly not the best spec, most likely a showroom car with no so many miles on it and on a very hot day. Motorweek is usually extremely slow, with GT-R 2012 they did 100-200km/h in about 9,3s, when european mags are getting 7,8s (AB Sportcars) - 8,2s (Sport Auto)... Conditions when testing both 458 and GTR were apparently similar, very hot day 35°C.
Austrian Autorevue Supertest 2011, Adria Italy - 458 domination It seems they are the ones who first-crashed the Aventador. So, sadly, no laptime. They were also putting regular Super RON95 into 458 Italia when a RON100 was available at the station. At least the driver for the track was ex-F1.
