The design is so radical and avant-garde French. I dig it.

EDIT: Love the color. The rear reminds me of an Alfa Brera. What's with the plastic grille, that I'm not digging so much. Looks like everyone is jumping on the shooting brake/touring/hatchback/wagon bandwagon nowadays.

And those wondering about the french engineering... com'on, just check Citröen's recent history on WRC or Renault's on F1 as engine supplier. They have the know how, but never used to their full potential.

Really love these and all Citröens concepts and mad cars through the history, they're with Alfa Romeo and Mercedes, my fav brands ever.

    Regards!

Well, you guys know how much I love shooting brakes, so I am loving it. First the FF and now this, I am happy the shape is coming back.

So much better than all the fast back crap out there.

I competely agree, as a fellow shooting brake lover, i am happy, let's hope it will retain this body for the production model.

I don't doubt their ability to engineer novel features, but I do question their reliability. I have not been keeping abreast to French car reliability and their ability to stand up toe wear-and-tear, so if someone more aware and knowledgeable can fill me on that, I'd appreciate it. :)

I like the fact that it's a shooting brake as it looks futuristic....like something I'd see in Back to the Future II or Minority Report. But part of me hopes we don't see the 3-box design go by the wayside either. I like me some variety in auto design.

I also like how the details, which I'd normally would find fussy and superfluous, seems to work rather harmoniously on the DS9.

What a beautiful car this is; I heartly hope Citröen success with it, as is a welcome alternative to other upmarket cars.

I gather it'll be FWD, yes? Does Citroen have an AWD system they could fit on this car.

Really, the more I look at it, the more I appreciate its daring aesthetic.

FWD is Citröen's trademark, so expect them to be. However, as Citröen is part of PSA, is quite possible to see a 4WD version hybrid, with electric motors powering the rear wheels, as seem on some of the latest Peugeots.

I love the overall "clean" design of this DS9, a proof that you can make a car look modern an up-date without stupids details and lines like Mercedes is doing.

    Regards!

That's true, what with the original DS, but I figure folks who'd want a car at that level, would at least want the option of some AWD set-up.

I'd say it will be AWD. In fact if you look at the Peugeot SR1 Concept it is powered by the 1.6l 215 PS front longitudinally twinned to a 95 PS electric engine running the rear wheels. Altogheter it makes 310 PS and goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 4,7 sec with topseed of 250 km/h.

They have some other possible engines, the 2.0l 260 PS (also BMW-PSA engine), or 3.0l V6 240 PS Diesel.

You should compare it to a Panamera too.
    Looks nice. Needs proper engines.

Based on first impressions of the DS5 this car is doomed unless they realise there needs to be substance as well as style.
