No, you've missed nothing. As usual. I think it's purely an unintentional reposting of the same information.
I'm looking...nothing yet. My day job has got me slammed right now ( I develop new Real Estate sites for a Fortune 100 International Retailer ). Glad to be busy...it just cuts into my spy shooting business. My guess on the X3 M.....It will be very similar to the current X3 Sport Pack Exterior (ie there is already a cut out on the rear fascia that would accommodate the other side of the quad M exhaust...like the 1 M Coupe rear fascia). Open up the two front air intakes on the X3 Sport Pack front fascia...they are for show now...to feed those new Electric Tri Turbo's in the new V6 and your done!!! Using the current X3 Sport Pack model lowers BMW's build cost and saves the secret sauce for the really go fast parts. BTW..... Yesterday I did spy something very new on the X6 M Facelift/LCI . More to follow. Thanks. PalBay
M3 F80 but yet no X3 M F25. I am worried about the engine, eventhough I know there are quite some differences between the S63 of X5/X6 M E70/E71 and S63Tu of M5 F10.
There should be some problems, either technical or strategical. If the "base" M engine will be revealed in the X3 M, there will stay little excitment for the M3, one of the most important M car, at least in my and other enthusiasts point of view. In the same time we must know that M3 F80 will be reavealed as Concept in Geneva 2013 and Production in Frankfurt 2013. M4 F92 as Concept in Geneva 2014 and as Production in Paris 2014. Between all these releases must be realesed the M6 GranCoupé F08 and X3 M F25. M6 Coupé F13 and M6 Convertible F12 in Genova 2012 and Paris 2012 or Genova 2013.
Yes it should. But I admit the engines are still quite different. We do not know if the X3 M and M3 engines will be different though. By logic they should not: both power top model of the car based on the same platform, by reason, they should: M3 would more often see the track than X3 M, M3 is the only "sportscar" BMW has.
Can't see it as a direct transplant without some tweaks to its character and possible altering to it's output curves to reflect the type of car the M3 is.
Call me a doubter if you want but I don't see an X3M coming, at least not before the M3 sedan is out. Best regards, south
I would say if anyone knows apart from Scott it would be you. I take it these are the things you are hearing then?
