Awesome, too bad this is all from a completely different period in time.

These days, it's all about JOY and Efficient Dynamics. No awesome hardcore stuff anymore, because BMW wants to be the new Toyota.

Horatiu, was there also the 8er Cabrio on display?

I wonder when will we see this...

A Harsh statement there, It is true that BMW have invested heavily in it's electric mobility and Project-i programme.
But it is exactly this which will help it's future premium programme.
Mass producing Carbon Fibre in the long run will make it more cost effective for use in other projects.
Project i is effectively a strategy with many development partners in different fields however BMW retain the one principle of independence in the development of the MegaCity Vehicle and will not be shared with another automobile manufacturer.

I remember seeing this a long time ago it looked like a sleeker Rover 75 Coupe. it had a large grille in the vein of how Jaguar have adapted a centre grille, surrounded by raked headlights similar to the first- Rover 75 but a single unit instead of a twin unit. The rear lights were similar to the Rover too. It was entirely based on the Rover 75 but along with a Coupe they produced a Cabrio but only made it as far as a clay model.

It is true that visits are permitted to BMW Classic under Supervision.
However you only get access to some floors, not all levels are accessed by the public.
As well as BMW Classic there is also a facility near Munich Airport which contains a vast hanger full of archives from design and engineering.

Hmm, so you just go to BMW Classic and ask to go inside?

Anyway, about that facility near the airport. What is it called? Does it have a website?

    Thanks Scott! ;)

yes it was and the 8er cabrio will still be there.

As far as BMW Classic, actually the M8 is not held by them from what I heard, the M people have it.

Btw, sat in the car, quite uncomfortable for a 6'2 guy :)) 1.85m but the seats were true racing ones and the interior was covered in suede fabric.

    Photos and videos to come.

Was that 7:14 or 7:40 for the truck on the ring? (at about 9:20-something in the movie)

Ask me for all questions about Germans speaking English and you shall receive. :D He said '7:40'.

    Best regards,

Thanks, I suspected so, but given the fact that he had a knödel in his mouth, it was hard to tell :D
