Videos BMW Physics Lesson Ad (incl. jab at Audi)

Automotive videos, clips, documentaries, walkarounds, motorsports, and related media.
I like how Audi takes like all of them at once and slaps them in the face. :D

You know what HoH?....You are 100% correct! :t-cheers:

Stop seeing these companies as gods. They are two businesses and the business world is extremely competitive. It is no point in getting all "OMG...how dare they actually compete with each other on a commercial this is so shameful".

Loosen up for heaven Sake! These companies could care less what you all think! I'm sure most customers are actually enjoying it.

Enjoy it for what it is…Marketing!

This is marketing at it most ugly and low. It does not matter what company is behind and it certainly has nothing to do about seeing companies as gods, where on earth did you get that from?

How is it low? It's call being competitive. It obvious that you are holding BMW to such a high standard. At the end of the day they are a company. Their only concerning is being profitable and competitive in the market place.

I guess that has more to do with this type of advertising being frown upon in general here. It has nothing to do with BMW. Nothing obvious there, unless you count you wanting it to be that way...

Well to each his own. Personally I love it. Far more interesting then the regular boring Joy commercials.

I will agree with you that the "Joy" campaign is far from interesting... :D

Problem with that campaign is that the "Joy" part is nothing new here - BMW has always used the same word here (Körglädje - the joy of driving) in its marketing.

I have no problem with comparative, competitive advertising.

What I do have a problem with is lame, cheesy, gratuitous comparative advertising.

If I'm not mistaken, the ad appears to be dubbed as well which makes it lose impact even more.

Yeah, it is in originally in German, which make me fear that this crap will end up in Europe.

It's even ILLEGAL in my country, imagine that.

^ Illegal to advertise brand vs. brand competitively. It's the same here in SA and quite possibly the UK too...

BMW Physics Lesson??

Yeah, that's what the advert is called. ;) Moved to the "BMW videos" section. There is an existing thread for BMW commercials but since this thread about this particular ad has so many posts already I won't merge it with that one, not yet.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
