What have BMW UK added here other than frozen paintwork? Doesn't the M5 have all M engineered parts already? Why would you add M-Performance parts to an M vehicle? Do you have to pay the M premium twice for having 2 M's in the model name now?

Edit: Just checked the BMW UK website... Wow, even worse than I expected. The Additional Options are worth £13k (if purchased separately) but the price premium is £22k (£73k becomes £95k).

The exciting new BMW M5 M Performance Edition comes with a
selection of exclusive individual equipment that is only available on
    thesemodelsincluding:
    • BMW Individual Frozen Paintwork
      (White,Blue&Red*) - £2,495
    • M Sport multi-function seats,front - £875

And all that makes it a "Performance Edition"? Nuts.

Hehe...Give it to them, BMW Group just knows how take make money and milk the cow:sneaky:

    And it reflects;)

Translated into more understandable language (maybe not Forum language) that's a sh!t load of money!

There seems to be a misunderstanding of the word "performance" by BMW.
From my point of view none of the aforementioned improves the car's performance unless they are alluding to their(BMW) financial performance.

    It's "M Performance Edition". Don't forget the extra "M", it costs £12k!

There been performance parts available for the M3 for some time now, like a performance exhaust. Why not for the M5?

I've sometimes felt the criticism directed towards M-badge becoming more of a Marketing gimmick were unjustified,.... but this... for a new model like the M5.. geez. (n)

I can understand why they created the similar M Performance Edition for the M3 since the E92 is edging closer to retirement, but for the new M5.. nuts!
What makes it even worse - as others have stated- is the lack of any improvement in performance.

The only saving grace is that this was conjured up by BMW UK..so criticism should be directed to those Poms!

    Dear BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz.

    - Enough of this matte paint finish obsession OK? It's a plain effing stupid idea.

And people are buying that. Man I wonder how they take care of keeping it clean. Plus, any Frozen color makes cars look real old. Anyways paint is subjective, if there is demand, heck why not.

Your fellow countryman/brothers in the UAE are very fond of it. The first thing I saw, for the first time in my life when I visited the UAE (everyone has to visit the UAE before they die!) was matte paint finish (which looked as if done aftermarket, though professional) on really lots of cars.

Edit: Sayyaaf, when you have the time please enlighten us about the roller-coaster @ Ferrari World, I do hope you had a ride already!?:D(y)

Love the contrast stitching and the alcantara wrapped steering. Hate the matt paint finish.

But not a 200% increase in price ??? .... well that's what I call a bargain my good man! (y)

I can see why they're only offering such a low-volume of these models. They've simply fitted them with the used black wheels from all the test mules. :D

LMAO:LOL: I just had that image in my head of the numerous test mules of the M5's testing at Nurburgring.

Think I'm joking.... check out the brake disc and stained wheels. You'll never see that on a brand new BMW used for a press release photo shoot. :D
