..and that orange blinker stripe on front bumper..it´s hideous, for Chists sake!!! *PS - I know its regulation,but..
Wow... that sort of evening lighting is just heavenly! I've seen the B7 on two seperate occassions, and that thing is imposing to say the least! What a car!
It's a good thing that I don't really pay very much attention to the verdicts of assorted automotive journalists when it comes to a comparitive evaluation of cars. It may, and often is, entertaining reading. Nothing more, nothing less. The F01 BMW 7 series has often fared less than optimally in various automag comparos. But if I were in the market for a large luxury sedan, I can think of no better car than the 7. In the sum of its' qualities, it is simply brilliant. And it is the only car in its' class that I could gaze at for hours on end. In SWB form-it's so incredibly good looking. I personally do not care for LWB versions of any luxury class sedan.
The SWB F01 in White with M-Pack, and black window trim and grill is absolutely STUNNING. There are some that I see driving around, and it is the epitome of effortless prestige. It's one of those designs where if you look at it, you can't pinpoint WHY it looks so special, or why it sticks out as such a premium and expensive car on the road, but when it comes together in natural elements, it's just bizarrely magnificent. Great and effortless design job. The size and proportions have a ton to do with this IMO, along with some of the material selection around the exterior.
Agree 100%. The SWB F01 7er is one of the best designs ever made by BMW, and maybe even their best sedan design ever (imo of course). I truly cannot wait to see the LCI.
Full LED headlights. LED Angel Eyes. Different bumper in the front. That's all I need really.... And I don't think it will be much more than that. I'm thinking changes like E39 before and after the FL. Maybe some new design rims, and very minor changes to the back (like the lower back bumper)
I think you forget the most important change: the kidneys. I do believe the F01 LCI will feature a much sharper grille, which will mimic the F10 and F13 one.
I agree. I think the F01 is a masterpiece of design that for some reason doesn't seem to get the recognition it deserves? Then again, it seems people support them with their wallets, as I see them a lot. It's one of those designs where, if I stare at it and study it too much, or over-think it, I start to convince myself that I might be exaggerating to myself as to how nice it is. But when seen in the natural elements, when driving by you, or parked, or when you see it in motion on the road, it just stands out, which is a testament to such an understated design. The rear in particular is very regal, and sophisticated. And I'm actually one of the rare people who seem to like that grill! I actually like it more than the F10's. It is a bit abrupt and huge, but that huge nostril look actually fits a car of this segment from BMW IMO.
There is really very little, if anything at all, that I personally could criticize with regard to the F01 SWB design. Proportions are absolutely perfect, details are sharp-edged and precise. The front end IMHO fits the car. Perhaps the taillamps could have been a bit more..ah..sportive. I prefer the taillamp graphics on the F10 5er and new 6 series-a bit shallower and wider, less boxy. It would give the rear end of the F01 a bit more visual width, methinks. Maybe something like applied on the 5er GT ? I like he taillamps on the 5er GT ! Otherwise, pretty darned perfect .
Well, I think that a slightly change in the rearlights part located on the bootlid won´t do bad to the design and won´t be expensive, as they just have to change the bootlid.
The grille can get a bit toned down imo, i mean the current ultra large kidney grille is an either love it or hate it thing. Like the E65, now that they got the hype they wanted when they released the car, they can afford to tone it down a bit to get more sales out of it.
Nah, Me, I like the grille just fine - gives the car presence as is appropriate with a car in this class :t-cheers:
