I still dont like this shifter.

The proportions are not right or something, it looks like a rice mod.

Other than that I love this car.

The shifter is nice, but I'm a little worried about how well it functions being so big, but of course there's always the aftermarket for other shit knobs. Thinking about it, if it were I who were to purchase a six speed R8 I'd retrofit a Gallardo shift knob.

The driver would have a handful holding the stick.

It is a pitty the plastic cars on the front and rear and painted silver, but it is only a matter of time before a tuner takes care of that. :)

Whatever the case is, i'd go for shifting paddles on this car...

I think the R8 needs to be seen in real life to appreciate the wide stance and 48 inch height. In photos it can look a bit bulky. It'll look amazing on the street next to the regular sedans.

This pic shows how wide and low it really is.

The shifter on that car comes straight off, or at least it seems like it does, an Italian tranny. Ferrari and Lambo have the Reverse going to the left back. Interesting.

Actually no, I think after the Murcielago the R came to the left up, like the germans.

I wonder why this one is left back....

The front of the "Le mans Quattro" is so much better looking than the R8.
The round off headlight shape, rounded front of the hood, and de place where de hood close by the grill.
Also the LMQ side rearview mirrors are much better looking, Audi use much to big mirrors on all new cars, TT, Q7, R8.

I completely agree with that! it gives the car a very solid unbroken look without the typical production creases that cut costs with panels.

    Re: R8 pic thread

And I disagree 100%. The R8 front is much more agressive than the LMQ. I have always loved the LMQ, but next to the R8, it looks so "nice" and not "mean" as the R8 looks.
