I don't have the energy or inclination for a full report. Certainly not whilst the forum is how it is at the moment. However, I'll post in a separate thread my thoughts and the two photos I took.
Are you sure you're not mixing up rear-wheel horsepower with engine horsepower (measured at the flywheel)? So far I've only heard Audis putting out more hp than on paper, as with every other German manufacturer (especially Porsche).
I understand your point, and many times I wanted to leave cause of some people.. Anyways, it would mean much for me, that A6 report Cause I love that engine.
Well, I will post by (brief) thoughts either tonight or tomorrow.It's my 3rd A6 in as many months and usefully I've had a BMW 525d xDrive for 3,000km last month to compare it with.
Regarding engine power or lack of it, I'm of the opinion that if the car's performance was similar to its piers which in the case of the RS4 was the M3 (similar PTW) then what a dyno says is relavent. The only reason an RS4 loses at the top end is due to drivetrain lose.
OK, so we're kinda stuck here. Although I remember quite clearly a report about the current S4 putting out as much at the wheels as it put out on paper (dyno-tested): REPORT: Evidence mounting that 2010 Audi S4 is underrated I can't quite believe the new TDI not putting out more than it says in the brochures, especially considering the similar numbers against the M550d measured by magazines.
