I agree. The W204's rear, especially the pre-facelift for its less designed yet very simple and solid look, is so very M-B.

That's funny. When it came out, there were a lot of complaints, that it looks korean from the back
  3. K-A Banned

Yeah I can understand that 'cause I thought similarly as well. But as you digested that aspect, you'd then see it next to a Korean/Japanese car, and everything would make sense, IMO, as the "M-B'ness" of it really came through. Same with the W212 E-Class, it looks very similar to a Camry in the back.... until you see it next to a Camry, and it looks like a piece of sophisticated solid steel in comparison. Of course, that's a look that M-B had before any of these guys, with the W126, W210, etc.

The reason many people think that recent new Mercedes-Benz models look Korean is because they lack the sense of timely judgment. They immediately cutoff their minds and point the finger to the easiest resolution, by trying to associate it with something: "It looks Korean". It's a ridiculous and immature sense of judgment. It's as if attending a contemporary art show, and upon observing one artist's work, saying "These abstract shapes look Korean". Yes, it's as absurd as it sounds.

woah... im lving what i'm seeing atm evene though the car is just short of 2 years awa, howver one can already make out the windows line shape, which looks phenominal, evem though you may call it somewhat of an evolution of current model, but imo it is enugh to give the 205 a 'in it's own class' look typical for mercedes, so far it looks remarkably mature and exclusive for its segment, cant really mention other elements as they are covered, and the interior,,,,!!,,,are they trying to move to E-class level, check them round vents like Sclass, also the climate contorls imo too much for c-class lol.

Interesting. The C is next, not the X6 competitor?

Are they just modifying the same sculpture they used for the CLS (in those same sheets) or are those genuinely the actual cars under sheets with lots of CGI?

Their is no way that is the C class...I think they just modifying the sculpture.

That's what I think too. It's way too dramatized. It was even too dramatized for the CLS I think. We can see from the mules driving around that the W205 is a bit more upright-Sedan-ish than those sculptures insinuate.

no c-class, just concept to emphasize a future model.

I'm pretty sure that is the CLA.

Why don't people believe it's the new C? It says it right there on the presentation, W205.

Wolfgang, is that you in the video during the unveiling of the GL?

There are new C test mules out there already, but no MLC test mules yet :D.

We already know the W205 C-Class is going to be built at the Alabama plant, but there will be a new model.

^ That's Wolfgang Bernhard, Head of MB Production, not me. ;)

The sculpture might give some hints. Here's the blurb from NAIAS 2010. ;)

I have a hard time believing that the W205 wont be here until 2015, its already in its early development phase and we're only half way through 2012. you'd think we'd still be seeing mules, then again these prototypes are in German where models are released earlier.

Also the new MLC crossover starts production in 2015 also, it would be alot of pressure to start production of two new models in a new assembly location.

it could be here in 2015 though b/c the CLS was in its early development testing in 2009 and didnt come out until mid 2011
