The proportions look great. Like the current one, just refined a bit. If this car has lines like the current one, i.e following the general flow of the car, and unclutters the details, it'll be a beautiful car. I think the proportions look more enticing than the F30's in fact, which is saying a lot as BMW have really been on the forefront of perfect proportions with some of their newer cars. The details will be a make or breaker.
I don't see the resemblance. BMW's doors have always been big handle bar on the outside and pull, while MB's has always been an integrated door-handle from what I can remember. The door-handle seems to be integrated to me, keeping with MB's traditional characteristics.
Yes it is, just look at location of the handle! Typical Mercedes handles are located on the top side of the door panel, never middle, or lower portion (with the exception of the G-Class).
It´s true they´ve cahnged location of the door handles, it seems this is changing in new Benzes, as the W222 S-Class don´t have the door handle in the traditional location: But don´t panic, the door handle shape has also changed, but this happens in every brand. BMW 7er has the interior door handle in a typical MB place, and so does X5. The 5er and 3er have different shaped handles and located in the middle of the door panel. And this is no drama for anyone. New MBs are meaning changes, we won´t see the traditional 3 gauges anymore, but a more spoty 2 gauges configuration.
Looks like that could be very close. reverse-wedge lines, and a W222 style rear (and baby W222 style look all in all). The W204 will be hard to top, namely exterior. I have my hesitations as to whether they'll do it justice if they go wayward lines on us.
I´m not saying it is imposible, I´m saying the spy pics make me think the rearlight are going to be slimmer and more horizontal.
I'm not a fan of pop-up nav screen. MB should not try to copy from the new 3er. It looks like the new W205 interior will be fairly close to the new CLA which will debut in the U.S about a year from now. dtd
Yeah the free standing display on Mercedes vehicles is a take or leave for me. so far it looks fine in the G wagon but id rather more of an indash display, but in the A class it fits perfectly well, but it sort of look a little cheap like something you'll find in an upscale Nissan. i think BMW got free standing displays in the bag
Anyone stop to check the HVAC controls? MB is finally doing away with the controls found in the W203 C-Class. The next C now features the same controls as the E and S-Class.
I hope it does. From all angles the pre-facelifted W204 is a very classic Mercedes and echoes the old 190 E and even the W124. The W205 will likely carry on most of the W204 design while the four door CLC will take the role of being the more adventurous smaller Benz.
