Thanks, Merc1. I thought MB would continue to export W205 to the U.S until the local U.S production ready to take over. MB can not afford to delay too long. The new 3er ( MY2012) will outsell the current W204. We also need the new engine choices. The perfect engine should be 2 liter ( 4 cyl) turbo that will crank to 2111hp and should make it to 35mpg compare with 33mpg from the 3er. Don't you agree? dtd
"2111hp" Maybe in another 100 years or so lol. Yes I think they need stronger 4-cylinder with like 240-255hp, a mid level V6 with like 280hp and the top a turbo V6 with like 360hp. Mercedes has to be careful though because they have at least one V8 with around 360hp, the new GL450. M
Oh sorry, It's a typo. I meant 211hp. Anyway, what you need is more torque and most important is the mpg. dtd
The eye brows are still an eye sore and makes the cars look comic. Only on the new ML do the eye brows look great.
2015? This car is already in very light camo. If it is two years away from the debut in the US, then MB is slower than I thought. A 2013 would be the 6th year, and I don't see a volume car being able to go any longer in this climate.
I agree. MB should bring this W205 out to the U.S market by the end of 2013. Otherwise, they will lose to BMW. By the way, the new Infiniti G will debut by spring of 2013. They will use MB engine ( the 4 cylinder I think). dtd
MB always abides by a 7-year format, but I think we will see the completed vehicle by the end of next year. From what I remember the W204 was already in public testing by 2005, so I figure the same has applied here 7 years later. The only difference is that maybe by the 4th quarter of 2013, unlike January 2007 for the W204, should be the time period to look out for.
I've worked for Mercedes for 14 years. And they do not always abide by a 7-year format. The original ML ran 8 years. (98-05) The 2nd generation ran 6 production years, and it was considered extremely long in the tooth. (06-2011) The 203 C-class also ran for 8 years. (2000-2007) We've generally been able to tell by when vehicles show up in camo, and how much they have on. Based on this camo, we'd expect to see a pretty revealed car in say 8 months. Which, would be on pace for 2014 MY. The 2013s aren't even out yet, and so two years is a long time. But hey, it's Mercedes.
I disagree, I think the torch design looks great. This render looks very good, and hope the car looks exactly like it!
I just hate misinformation. The previous generation C-Class (W203) ran for 7 model years. 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007. The 2000 model year C-Class was the still the previous C-Class, the W202. If you're going to count calender years then it makes no sense at all since both cars were physically on the ground in 2000, the old one at at the start of the year and the new one towards the end of 2000 for the 2001 MY. M
Not sure what the confusion is here, but the next generation C-Class is due out in 2014 which would make it a 2015 model year car in the U.S. It will also be built here for the first time. The current car came out for the 2008 model year....2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 (FL), 2013, and then 2014 model years, 7 of them...then the new one for 2015. Its really pretty simple. M
The interior looks modern . Exterior does not seem to change much 9 especially the rear light). I would say it is an evolution rather than revolution. dtd
It seems the change this time is complete. No more phone pad radio controls, but the same S-Class style. Rounder steering wheel, two big speedo gauges in big chrome cones. I think there is another chrome line for radio controls under the AC ones. I really like how this car is shaping.
The Speedo Dials Look Very Different From Current Car...Also The Door Handles Are Different From Typical MB Models..The Interior Is Looking Like Its Going To Be A Class Above The Rest On Current Market Looks Very Upmarket From What I See And What I Am Imagining behind The Black Fake Pannels...Also If You Look Close It Looks Like The Screen Is Fake i Mean It Is Sitting Their Only temporary...I think The Real Car May Have A Screen further In Or Maybe Its Just The Cladding... One Part I think Which I don't Know If I Will Be Too Happy About Is I Think This Interior Will be Closer To The S in looks Then The Previous Generation...
