New details are starting to emerge about the 2014 Ford Mustang.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the model will adopt a modern design that draws inspiration from the Evos concept. Details are limited, but the car will reportedly have a shark-nosed grille and round headlights.
If the reports are correct, Ford is playing a dangerous game by eliminating the car's classic lines. Sources say this is in an attempt to appeal to younger consumers, but nothing is official as of yet.

They should drop the live axle. Not the retro styling.

Very bad news. It will kill the Mustangs individuality and purpose.

Love the Mustang. Drove a 2012 V6 around for a while and remembered just how much I loved it.

Not many things in life are more fun than a RWD V8 powered Mustang with a manual gear box and free flowing mufflers. As cheesy as it sounds, the car is an automotive symbol of American freedom.

If they do change the style to something like that concept they're going to have to do an interior and powertrain and chassis to match and then it will become a lot more pricey. This is huge risk. Almost like when the Probe was supposed to replace the Mustang, the GL to replace the G. It will be a good looking car no doubt, but will it be proper for a Mustang? Not so sure about that. Why not give Lincoln a nice entry level luxury coupe instead?

I agree with that. The Mustang is supposed to be a little raw and unrefined.

With Ford's recent efforts, NO DOUBT it's gonna be an incredible car on its own, as Ford is just really getting serious lately.
