    +1

Otherwise for me this car would be a very good 3 Series/M3 rival.

It does not have any to do with that. They could add frameless windows without issue. The 1 Series 5 Door is normal, the 1 Series 3 Door has frameless windows, the same goes with the A1. I think Mercedes did not make the windows frameless, like the CLC (C Class Sportshatch), not too make it too close to the E Class. This may change with the next generations, CL will be, as it always was, a true S Coupé, E Coupé this time a true E Coupé and same for the C Coupé, a true C Coupé and not a late coming "cheap" build without finished design.

No, sorry that's all I have. These are definitely the production taillights, the only thing is why are they on the CSC? The vehicle in the patent and several others looks to be a CSC, but the tails are what caught me off-guard.

No, those patents are for the Concept Style Coupe.

They look to be the exact shape of those test cars. What's the issue?

There is no issue here. Just merely pointing out that these patents came specifically from the CSC.
Regardless, it would be nice to see something similar make it into production.

Yes, I clarified that this is the CSC. It's very obvious to me that this is the CSC as there is no way the mirrors and overall body match the prototypes. The impression I am getting is that someone accidentally handed in this patent modeling that strongly resembles the taillight design of the production model rather than the CSC. I am mainly referring to how only the CLA prototypes and the patent taillights match other, versus the CSC's conceptual taillights. The second layer is white, a detail you see on the FEP testers and the image I provided. I simply spotted a mismatch of minor design detail.

Some images I took from a patentdatabase a while back:

Exactly, that's them. I'd seen these about 2 months ago, but only recently did that catch me off-guard when searching for W222/W212.5 patents. I just don't understand why the CSC is using different taillights on CAD render, in which the white portion is opaque/solid(like on the CLA prototypes) than on the actual concept car where it is transparent and smaller. Seeing that the CSC brake lights are white/grey and the CLA brake lights are only red, the latter seems to more reflected on the rear of design representation. I think a mistake was made in that submission, as whoever did that left the wrong taillights on it and needed to change it to reflect the ones from the concept model at Beijing. My guess is this rendering might have been produced during development of the CSC and then the car's taillight design changed towards the end to differentiate it from the production model. Then again, I'm used to seeing only actual cars/clay models in patent photos and not watered-down CAD renderings.

Think some of them will be the production ones the second tailights picture and the second headlights will be in production ;)

The S-Class and this car really have built up spy shots and anticipation.

The boot design almost reminds me of the previous generation "Bangle butt" 6-Series. (That might be camo)
This car is looking better and better with each shot.
