That front end isn't perfection, the hood is too puffy and the lights are funny/weird looking.

Hmmm. Will refrain from commenting so early.

Thanks G for the live premiere ... since the official press photos are horrible as always, totally skewing the car's real presence & stance. :eusa_doh:

So why the redundant post?

Probably a wise choice. First things first, let your eyes get used to this new car. Most new Bimmers look hella awkward at first sight. The F10 was not different.

    That's classic Betty ... back to 3er, please. :)

I like it! I think I can understand what they are trying to get at with thr headlights... It's an interpretation of the VED / M1hommage headlights but with lens over it, seems like they are not yet ready to go lens-less yet but thr idea is quite obvious to net, the effect is there.
The stance is nice and wide and flat, very flat unlike other models which has a raised head, reminds of thr e38. Something is a bit weird thts similar to hr F20 in the front bumper but glad that thr lower air intake is much mug nicer than the f20.

Rear is a bit boring, thought it would have sth special.. Overall I think the look is stylih and a very disinctive character.

Completely agree, the car looked much better during that webcast presentation. I can see some of the new 1er in the front, but none of the ugliness, this 3er has a very aggressive front end just as the E90 did. I can also definitely see some links to the 5er GT, from the shape of the front lights (if it didn't have that link to the grille, it'd be very similar to the 5GT's lights), and even the rear lights are more edgy and stretched similar to the 5GT. They're REALLY gone sporty for the interior of the Sports Line, I'm sure many will like that extra bit of customization, though personally I wouldn't go for the red or blue trim, ...the simple look of brushed alu' on black works just fine for me.

The rear's a little soft, but that's mostly due to the design of the bumper (could have been a tad more aggressive with the lowest part of the bumper around the exhaust area)...but if you want aggressive all-round, then of course the M-Package is coming.

Main thing that keeps running through my mind is...if the sedan is designed to be this sporty looking, then the upcoming Coupe will be an absolute stunner! Just look at the drastic difference between the E90 sedan and E92 coupe of the current generation. Let the M3 photoshops begin! :D

Well. I don't know what to say about it. I want first to see it live before judging, just as I did with the 1 Series F20. As for the M3 F80, I hope the design will grow on me and the M3 will be a beast without sheep clothes.

Because I actually wrote quite a lot on my first impressions, some good. Some bad, but thought it's better just to see better photos first. So I deleted what I wrote and thought I would just leave a little message indicating such.

    Exactly.

Oh will you please just f*** off! The explanation is above. Why have you just made that comment about me?! :t-banghea

It was completely unprovoked and uncalled for.

Hmmm, let´s take some time to diggest the car. From now on I can say I quite like the front, which is of course the part designers seem to have put more effort on. The profile looks very good too, the rear would be perfect, if it wasn´t a 98% copy of the 5er one (c´mon BMW, this is just pure Audi). And the interior looks very upscale, but not feeling the way the trim ends in the half of the passenger´s side.
