Re: Next generation 3-series rendering from AZ

That's cuz it was rendered before the e90 3er to show what the e90 3er might be.

Looks fantastic but too large to be a 3er to these eyes, more like an F10.:eusa_thin

Spy shot of chassis mule reveals larger dimensions for next generation.

That is a photoshopped manipulated CS Concept.
The first model to use the widened 3er platform will be the first model the Progressive Activity Coupe .

Yes, it's a mule testing F35 platform --- chassis only. Quite widened, and the WB is just a tad longer as well.

Still quite some time away before the 3er prototypes with original (yet heavy camoed) body hit the roads.

Expect 6er coupe, 1er hatch, baby-PAS (PAC), first mules for project-i to be in the streets before the 3er. Project - i cars will be tested for a looooong period. I guess initially some MINI mules will be used, or even car body borrowed from some rival. (y)

Btw, What´s up with E92 FL?, I think this car is starting to need some new touches.

Yes I'm really eager on the E92/93 FL, I really really want to know whether they will change that fantastic front end at all, and if so, how they can improve something so perfect. The rear do need improvements though.
F35 - way to far away, we have no idea before we get more exact ideas with the F10 and other new models. I just dont' think, as a 3series, it will be as radical as the CGIs.

??? Isn't it too early for such soft camo ? Besides the headlights shape is very X1ish.

It looks like a current 3er with the new car´s front end. Do I see 7er like front lights?.

Then I´m happy with what you are saying. I really hope BMW don´t paste the F01-like front end on the next 3er. I´m looking forwars to see the proportions of the new 3er, the worst part of the current model.

BTW EnI, Do you know if there is going to be a FL for the E92? I think it looks a bit dates now compared to the sedan.

Can someone confirm the name of the new 3-series? Is it F30 or F35? Ask two different persons and you get 2 different answers...

Can someone post a list like this:
    F3x - 3er Sedan
    F3y - 3er Touring
    F3z - 3er GT
    F3a - 3er Coupé
    F3b - 3er Convertible?

    Scott? Eni?
    Thanks!

    ^ Interesting question.

Because of the number of derivatives I would expect BMW to go with the familiar sequencing of numbers ending in zero (0) for sedans, 1 for Touring, 2 for Coupe and so on...

    What's F20-series reserved for and why F30 for 3er?
