They say they can have it out for around 50K. If they TRULY can, I have my doubts, this is a better deal than the Volt.

Agreed Tesla does show some Maserati design elements. Now Tesla is opening its new headquarter in Palo Alto California near Stanford. It would be interesting to see Tesla's future offering with best mind in research and development. There is a section from Tesla described how it works.
