Post Paris 2006: Citroen C-Metisse Hybrid-Diesel Concept

Citroen C-Metisse Hybrid-Diesel Concept

An International Motor Show in Paris without a futuristic concept from Citroen is like having a romantic dinner for two without a bottle of Chardonnay. Beside it's all new medium sized MPV C4 Picasso Citroen will also present at the Paris Show the C-Metisse Concept: a stunning GT with 4 gullwing type doors that looks like it came straight back from the future.

But this futuristic sport GT isn't just about style as Citroen has given it a hybrid powertrain that consists of PSA Group's 205 Hp 3.0 V6 HDi diesel engine and two electric motors. This is not the first time that Citroen has been playing around with diesel-hybrids as a few months ago the French carmaker unveiled the C4 Hybrid HDi.

This car looks stunning, if only it didn't have a citroen badge, maybe then I'd buy it, if it hit the road!

It's not too wild for production...hell we're in the 21st century shouldn't we have cars like this anyways. The reason I say it won't see the light of day is because citroen doesn't have the balls to make it.

Spectaculaire!!!

Another fantastic French concept ....if only their production cars were so good-looking ......and, if only they didn't fall apart on a testdrive

Exactly. Is it me or do the French really come up with the most far out concepts that never go into production? I mean the Germans and Japanese and Americans do concepts too, some of them pretty far out, but they turn them into production cars more often though.

If the French would turn some of these into production vehicles while keeping the original concept look, well as much of it as possible, they'd be able to enter the U.S. market again with ease. Who wouldn't drive something like that above?
