I like the new bumper. Makes the Cayman look really happy. Kind of like it's from the movie Cars.

Re: Cayman Facelift Thread (Spy pics & info)

More details on Porsche’s Cayman facelift for 2009

So far 2008 has been about the renewaland reinvigorationof Porsche’s 911 lineup, with the highest-performance variants still to receive their dual-clutch PDK gearboxes and direct-injection upgrades. Nevertheless, the rumors of the next cycle of updates, this time for the Cayman, are already beginning to circulate, though the updated car won’t make its debut until sometime next year.

A minor appearance upgrade will include new headlights, tweaks to the air intakes, and the addition of LED tail lights, but overall the new cars, like their 911 counterparts, won’t be signficantly different, visually, from the current Cayman. The mechanicals, however, will be.
At the top of the list for the facelifted Cayman’s upgrades is a reworked engine, which grows like the 911’s mill by 0.2L. In the Cayman’s case that results in a 2.9L flat-six that puts out 265hp (197kW) and 222lb-ft (300Nm) of torque, rising 20hp (14kW) and 20lb-ft (27Nm) over its predecessor. That should be enough extra power to scoot the small hardtop to 62mph (100km/h) in 6.0 seconds, shaving a tenth from the current model’s time, reports Auto Zeitung. Further improvements to the sprint time will also be available via the PDK dual-clutch gearbox that’s expected to become available as an option as well. With this option fitted, the new Cayman’s 0-62mph run should take just 5.8 seconds. The base model will also reportedly be offered with an optional limited-slip differential (LSD) for the first time.
Bump up to the S model, and even more power and speed are on tap, thanks to the addition of direct-injection (which is skipped on the 2.9L unit). Power increases to 320hp (231kW) and 274lb-ft (370Nm) of torque, and the manual-equipped model with get to 62mph in 5.3 seconds, with the PDK-version cutting that back to 5 seconds flat.
In the S model, the PDK and direct-injection combine to reduce fuel consumption and emissions by about 10%. Upgrades to the electronics, navigation and entertainment system round out the mid-cycle upgrades for the Cayman.

Re: Cayman Facelift Thread (Spy pics & info)

I posted these in the other thread yesterday (the Cayman one )

It not quite a leak, because the shots are taken from Porsche's own online car configurator

the rear lights look like a piece of meat now but definitely an improvement for the front. Always felt the front of the cayman needed a better look.

Re: Cayman Facelift Thread (Spy pics & info)

Don´t like the rear lights. When I see some of the new designs of Porsche, I think that this brand can come with any interesting new idea in terms of design, and has to reinvent the things they already have, sometimes with worse result, just like this rear lights.

Re: Cayman Facelift Thread (Spy pics & info)

I welcome the new Cayman tail lights. They add a new flair to the car, an organic character making it resemble a Cayman crocodile even more. Some of these bolder changes are necessary to keep up the interest in the car, especially when new introductions to the line-up are coming out like the Panamera. So the Cayman/Boxster and 911 require more severe facelifts in order not to be overshadowed.

Re: Cayman Facelift Thread (Spy pics & info)

Hehehe...I don't think the Panamere will overshadow anything in the Porsche line-up. Only literally, with it's big ass
