M5, E63, RS6 watch out !! A new car have arrived.

2007 CTS Super V, powered by a 7.0-liter 505-hp LS7 V8 lifted directly from the Corvette Z06

The Super V also features custom bodywork, huge rear tires, larger exhaust pipes and an engine sound unlike any other CTS.

With the new CTS slated for arrival as a 2008 model, speculation is that Cadillac will offer this exclusive model as a last hurrah for the exiting first-generation CTS.

If that’s not powerful enough, wait for the next-generation CTS Super V, which is rumored to be equipped with the LS9 engine—a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 with 600 hp. But you’ll be waiting at least until the 2010 or 2011 model year for that one.

This is going to get serious. Cadillac said they would fight, others looked away. Cadillac continued with the fight, not those will start looking.

It will probably be crazy fast but will Gm be able to make it as competetive as the ZO6?

I couldn't care less about it.

It's a GM car. GM won't be sticking with us for too long. That means Cadillac will also die.

Seriously, would you buy a car from a manufacturer on the verge of bankruptcy? I wouldn't. That's why I will stick with the BMW M5 and Mercedes CLS 63 AMG.

I don't think that Cadillac will sell that much in Europe. I think the european buyers are of a higher class, than the american ones. I think that here in europe we consider very much the materials' quality, something that american car lack...

Exactly... It's quite funny seeing most of you simply brush away this latest threat from Cadillac. Seems a bit arrogant guys...
I remember a similar sentiment when the Corvette ZO6 was being developed...and look at how stunning it has been. IMO, it still hasn't recieved the respect and praise it deserves, ..but I guess that's coz it's American, and most here are highly biased towards Europeans cars. I'm not saying I'm not biased either... but I've learned to respect the new wave of American cars which are prepared to take on the Europeans. Same thing with Lexus, atleast they're providing significant competition to the Europeans.

That LS7 is a stunner. Sure it may not have the best hp/L figures.. but the ZO6 is testiment to its capabilities. Maybe AMG, M and RS shouldn't really be worried in terms of sales, bceause it's not likely the Cadi' will be a success in Europe... but they should be conscious of GM's intent to take on the Europeans at their game.

(* If you're wondering why the heck I'm trying to defend American cars... must be coz I just came back from a trip to US... aaah... still not de-americanized )

Re: M5, E63, RS6 watch out !! A new car have arrived.

The regular CTS-v had bad axle hop problems with its 400 hp engine. How bad is that going to be with 500hp?

American magazines always compared this (cts-v) car to M3's etc and the M3 still won.

Re: M5, E63, RS6 watch out !! A new car have arrived.

I really don't get the point of existence, of this Cadillac CTS Super-V.

The STS-V is already a rival for the E55/CLS55 AMG.

Why bother making a "super version" for the supposedly C55 AMG competitor?

I could see the Super CTS-V as rival for the CLK-DTM.

Although, it would be totally pointless, to compare a Sedan without even a racing approach, against a track day ready 2-dr Coupé with the option of a convertible.

I think they should make a lightweight LS2 6.0 V8 400 Bhp CTS-V instead of a 7.0 V8 500 Bhp, that treads on the STS-V shores.

BTW: The "Super-V" name sounds stupid!

BeemerBoi, I know what you're saying about respecting their cars. The corvette definitely deserves all respect, I've said that many times. The main problem with the American's is their reliability.

Do you think that this Super-V will be very reliable? Knowing how their last corvette was, it's not. The M, RS (even though the last S4 sucked in reliability), and AMG cars are reliable. That's the reason people buy those over these because not only are thy wicked fast but people know they will last them a long time.

I don't want to diss the car or anything (nor the 'Vette), it could be better than any German car for all we know (yeah right)...

... but 505 out of a 7.0-litre engine is sad... not as sad as the Viper, but c'mon.

Ya, an engine that weighs less than the N52 while getting double the horsepower, mountains of torque, and sucks down gasoline at the rate of a decently sized 4 cylinder is sad...
