let me see, c200, c230, c280, c350 &&&& C63? are MB losing their mind? what do they want the C to compete against? the M5 and RS6?
we were studying in Psych class "delusions of grandeur" as a symptom of scixo, well my friends, C63 is the perfect example of delusions of grandeur

it say it will use the engine found in E63 but it doesnt say its getting 503hp, CLK63 has 481hp and C63 wont get more than CLK63, probably around 440-450 hp.

Actually, they want the C63 AMG to compete with the 2008 Cadillac CTS Super-V which will output 500 Bhp.

BMW and Mercedes better start to increase the power from the M5/M6 and E63/CLS 63.

This is insane, 503bhp in a C class where does this leave the E63, which only has a few horses more! AMG are really upping the anti!

Its not going to happen. Why should it get more power than CLK63?

Even if the car gets 481bhp, that's still a huge amount of power for a C class!

there was one thread were we could read the C63 would get less HP than CLK63, around 440-450hp. Sounds more correct to me.

still a 6.3 V8 with 440-450hp is insane, in every single meaning of the world, overdoing such things is never a good sign in a car company, it looks tacky, as if they want to have the upperhand in any way

I think AMG are making Brabus look a bit pointless lately, Brabus's power outputs don't look as crazy as they did a few years ago!

450 is insane.. but no the point where it feels tacky.. if the new bimmer has 420-430 then 450 isnt such a streach.. MB always have more power.. keeping with tradition is what i call it

yes but the audi and bmw engines are sub 4.5liters, BOTH OF THEM
the AMG is 6.3, the 5.5 was already a looong stretch

Just_me is correct. I posted the hp numbers in the C63 where it says it will get around 450hp, still coming from a 6.3liter V8 is insane!

Remember guys, MB was always the king of engine size. It`s been this way for more than 50 years, it nothing new!

Anyway this C63 looks so damn good, even with the camo on. I can wait for the debut! Just wait, we will see a SLK63 next!

I don't feel being king of engine-sizes is something they should be proud of. It's just a choice, not an engineering achievement.

You can have a larger engine with hi-tech achievements, thats not a problem. When supersized engines were created some 30-45 years ago that was considered a status symbol. MB s just keeping up it`s heritage. That should never change anyway.

true, big engines are synonymous with gas guzzling, and non efficient engineering, whatever the truth may be
the world is going towards highly efficient small engines that go with low emission and even lower consumptio0n
the road is with either high strung, high rpm NA, or advanced methods of FI e.g. TSI, BMW twinturbo etc..

dont forget Audis RS4 engine.

We all have our opinions but I still believe size is still status in the 21st century.
If it`s not with displacement it`s with cylinders. The term "status symbol"
has gotton very sophisticated but the basic idea behind status will not change. The idea that more is better, is status!

More cylinders, bigger displacement, more car! (Your not going to find a down sized Rolls Royce Phantom, it`s their top car and it`s huge!) more money,
more chics to play with, You get the picture.

I agree on the cylinder part, and will ad Bhp, but I dissagree when it comes to displacement. But hey, it's a free world
